Leave The Sleepin Cat Alone . . .

Patches sleepin

Whenever I notice my cat, Patches T. Cat, sleepin like this, I leave her alone. The tail that's neatly curled over her eyes is the 'give away.' She was probably disgusted with me. First thing in the AM I give her some kibble. Then at noon I give her some canned food. The canned food is the only way I can get her to take her thyroid medicine. When I put it in with the kibble, she spits it out . . . honest . . . I hear a ptooey, then a clink on the floor, then I get the dirty stare down. Well today, around noon, she was lettin me know that I could feed her anytime. I noticed there was some kibble left from this AM. Told her she had to finish it before she gets anything else. We went back and forth for 10 or 15 minutes on the merits of the issue. Finally she gave in and ate the kibble and I got the canned food for her. A little later I noticed her 'resting' from the ordeal.

We do this sort of thing all the time. Last week one day, I wasn't fast enough for her when I heard a soft, weak, drawn out cat moan. I turned around and she was sprawled out on the floor beside her dish all but breathing her last breath. She has done this sort of thing since I've had her. Probably learned it at the animal shelter cause I never act like that. You get put in with all kinds at those shelters.
