Sunday, May 2, 2010 . . .

Not much happenin this weekend except for some rain . . . again. Got a bit over .8" of rain Fri & Sat nights and a trace so far today. If it doesn't rain much tonight, I might start mowin tomorrow. I'm sure that mower will give my a lot to blog about this summer. It has been burnin oil and getting hot already and the it really hasn't been hot yet. I doubt that I'll make it through the summer with it.

I started paintin the bathroom this PM. More trimming that rolling to do in a bathroom. I used to like to paint . . . even painted a lot for other people. Then the red basement walls happened. This lady wanted 2 walls painted red in her basement rec room. The red went well with the black furniture and the other white walls. The problem was that I applied something like 6 or 7 coats before the red started to stop streaking. Went through something like 2 gallons of paint and the walls weren't all that big. Since then, I just don't want to paint . . . even for myself. After I was finished with that job . . . or maybe the lady gave up on me, a painter friend said to apply a coat of blue first and the red won't show streaks. Don't know if he was foolin with me or if it really works. Anyway, I'll finish the bathroom another day.

After painting, I typed up and sent reminders for the May breakfast that's comin up in a couple weeks for my high school class . Always get good attendance and people keep comin back, so they must like it. Ordered some stuff on-line and got my eBay sales in the computer. Took some eBay pics, but I don't think I'm gonna list anything tonight. Been on the computer since around 5 and it is after 8 at the moment.

Yesterday, I saw my first field of corn comin up. I also saw this old farm building . . .

Have no idea what it was used for . . . Don't think I've ever noticed anything similar to it. All the windows and that second story 'room' on the left end make it a very interesting structure.


Started pourin down rain a few minutes ago . . .  boss called and said to wait till Tues to mow . . . If that yellow streak of rain doesn't move east and fast, it may be Wed before I start mowin.
