This 'n That . . .

Maybe you noticed a different blog template. I really liked the old one, but it aggravated the heck out of me when I tried to scroll. This one scrolls smooth . . .Gonna fine tune some of the colors in the next few days.

My cat, Patches T. Cat, didn't get a clean bill of health from the vet this week. Got a couple medicines to give her. Seem to be helping a lot so far. Seems to have an infection . . . of what, we don't know. The new meds are liquid. Supposed to give them orally from a syringe. First time it went ok. I wasn't injured seriously. I got her mouth open and squirted the stuff down her throat. She jumped and her claws came out quickly . . . sure find out which ones need trimmin quickly . . . She didn't try to get away from me . . . just had a shock, surprised look on her little cat face. Since she gets this stuff twice a day, I decided to mix it in with her food. So far she hasn't objected at all. Energy and appetite came back after 2 days . . . so I think the antibiotic has kicked in. Mostly old cat issues. I've had her over 15 yrs and she will be 16 sometime later this summer.

auction

Went to this auction near Hicksville yesterday. 10 AM Friday auctions are unusual in these parts. It was unusual in other ways too. The auctioneer was from Galion OH. Galion is a few miles west of Mansfield which in the middle of the state. The auctioneer said family members would be bidding. Boy, was he right. I usually leave when I hear that . . . I stuck around to watch for a while anyway. One member was tryin to tell the auctioneer how to auction the stuff off . . . maybe that's why they had to go to Galion to find an auctioneer . . . The auctioneer offered probably over a dozen boxes of used canning jars, buyer's choice. The family bid them up to $15 per box and took 7 of them including one box where she took out 2 cans and left the box to be sold again. The family was fillin up an out building with the stuff they were buyin, in some cases way more than it was worth . . . They had a lot of stuff I would have bid on, but I knew it was gonna be a waste of time to stick around.
