Sold my first set of Christmas cookie cutter sets this weekend. Actually I sold three of them. Two of them are goin to the United Kingdom. If you are curious, the link to my eBay stuff is on the left side of the page.
Been chilly and blustery at times both yesterday and today. There is a frost warning out for tonight. With a high of about 60 by late afternoon and the expected wind, I'm seriously considerin breakin out the long underwear. Went 'full Carhartts' several days this past week. I was down to my sweatshirt by quittin time each day. Takes a while to get used to that kind of weather.
Stopped at the local Circle K this PM. The lady, probably about my age, bought a can of Skoal. She had all her teeth and they were reasonably white . . . made it a point to check. Even around here, where a lot of the women wear Carhartt jackets in the winter, ya don't see many of them buyin Skoal.
After Circle K, my next stop was Walmart. In one of the aisles, I slipped a bit. There was a trail of sugar on the floor. Looked like someone put a leakin bag of it in there cart. The trail went up and down several aisles. There was a small pile where they stopped. I found a clerk in the frozen foods dept. and told him about it. I honestly don't think he understood a word I said. Just had a blank look on his face. Too many times in and out of the freezer. maybe . . . .

Did some yard work this pm. This past summer was a disaster for about everything growin. I've decided to make this my bulb garden. I'm keepin the clemantis on the trellis in the center. I planted some mums on each end. In front of the trellis, there are some crocuses. Over by the mums, I planted a few red tulip bulbs. This is the first time I've planted tulips since I've lived here. The rest of the space will be filled with my calla bulbs and maybe somethin else. Gonna hafta put some type of barrier on top of my newly planted bulbs to keep the squirrels away.

This is my 'rose garden.' This is the best it has looked since I built it. The ph was all wrong for roses. I think I'm gettin close to where it should be for them. My callas are in the middle. They grew well but didn't bloom much. Wonderin if it was the heat/drought or the ph.

This is where I'm gonna plant my gladious. They should be out of the wind and hopefully won't fall over. Gonna hafta admend the soil some before puttin them in the ground next year.

Don't know what I'm gonna do at the back of the lot next year . . . besides straighten up the fence. Nothin survived the summer.

This is the best my miniature roses have done since livin here. Again, I gotta do some work gettin the ph where it is supposed to be. They perked up quite a bit after the heat & drought ran its course.

I'm thinkin this perennial bed needs some revitalizin. Hope the weather stays decent long enough for me to get a couple truck loads of good soil to add here and there to my beds.
