Odd 'N Ends . . . Mostly Odds . . .

Made a purchase at the local Walmart the other day.  A tired lookin lady was in line in front of me.  I think she was wishin that she had left her Jr. High age daughter at home.  The daughter was havin an attitude attack.  She was actin all 'pouty' and didn't want to be there type attack.  Can't say I've missed that kind of stuff at all since I took up bein retired.

When it was my turn at the register, the nice young lady decided that she needed to tidy up here change drawer.  She straightened all her bills, then broke open a roll of pennies and nickles.  Then she greeted me and asked if I found everything ok.  Don't think I've ever had a cashier straighten up a cash drawer like that.  They usually wait till they are out of a certain coin and then have trouble breakin open a new roll without havin the coins flyin all over the place.  Not everyone can handle the pressure of tryin to break those things open with a long line of fidgeting people watchin them.  Bills usually don't get straightened till the drawer won't close.

 post
While I'm on the topic of Walmart, I thought I'd include this pic.  For a long time I've noticed this post in the outer reaches of the parking lot.  I finally stopped to check it out recently.  It seems that it is a memorial to deceased Walmart employees.  A nice touch, but kinda on the unusual side of things at the same time.

truck
And while I'm ramblin on about parkin lots, I saw this truck in another parkin lot over the weekend.  That's probably a 60' trailer with dirt bike strapped on it.  I'm thinkin this is a bit of 'overkill.'

horses
Yesterday afternoon, I was drivin up W. Union St. and I saw this. . .  a couple of horses staked in the yard behind the local motel.  Not something you see everyday.  In fact it is the first time I've seen horses there.  I drove around the corner and into the parkin lot to see if there were Amish buggies there . . . nothing.  I have no explanation.

Simon T C
Simon is keepin an eye on me as I type this.  He is quite a handful.  ALWAYS wants to play.  Very, very persistent till he gets his way.  There seems to be little down time, though he does sleep a couple hours during the afternoon.  When I watch evenin tv, he is fussin at me again.  Sometimes he'll jump up in my lap and fuss with me till he falls asleep.  And I thought a cat would take less time than a dog.  What was I thinkin????
