Ramblin Mike Goes To The Auction . . .

auction
I went to an auction today.  It has been a long time since I've been to an auction.  I did ok.  I got 2 of the 5 lots I wanted.  I sold a covered casserole out of one of the lots before I got out of the building.  The lady said she wanted it because she thought sweet potatoes would look good in it . . . Honest, that's what she said.  My only concern was how long was she gonna keep sweet potatoes in it.  I've learned not questions these things.  Everyone has their idiosyncrasies . . . Some have more than others . . .   I think she occasionally reads my blog.  If she reads this post, I'm pretty sure I will know . . . Please note that I have not identified her in any way, shape or form.

tile
On the way to and from the auction, I noticed more than a couple fields waitin to be 'tiled.'  It occurred to me that it would be pretty ironic if after the super dry summer, they couldn't get into the fields this fall and winter because it was too wet.

bales
Comin back,  I noticed round bales of hay along US 6.  US 6 is a two lane highway, but there is a section that there is enough land owned to build a four lane divided highway in the future.  There were bales for several miles.  I've seen similar highways where grain crops were grown. Never noticed anything on US 6 before.

When I got home, the day deteroriated quickly.  Everything I attempted to do went wrong.  So as soon as I finish this, I am through for the day.  I figger I will accomplish more this way.  Days like this aren't my favorites.
