That yukkie feelin finally caught up with me sort of big time. Monday I woke up with as sore a throat I can recall. I very rarely get a sore throat anyway. This one made up for it. I thought I was in for a doozy of one of those eye waterin, nose burnin sinus type colds too. The sore throat was pretty well gone by Tuesday and the sinus thing was pretty well gone yesterday.
So, I decided that today would be a good day to get those laser cut pens finished. I've never made laser cut pens and took on a couple for a customer. Once I saw what they were I was not lookin forward to makin them. I had a couple episodes of the screamin heebie jeebies before I even got them to the lathe. Ya gotta put all the parts in the shell and glue them together. The parts in this kit were very small!!. If I wasn't on the diabetic side of things, I have no idea how I would have got the tiny parts where they were supposed to go. The smallest needle I could find was from my test kit. You know the tiny needle that feels like an eight penny nail that ya stab yourself with to get some blood . . . Well working under a bright light, holding a magnifyin glass with one hand and the needle in the other while the shell was clamped still with a couple of those office paper clamps, I got everything together. That was a couple weeks ago. Wanted to make sure the screamin heebie jeebies were done with me. They aren't anything to take lightly!!
Since I was gettin to feel normal again yesterday, I found some youtube videos on laser cut pens. They have how to videos on about everything. You just have to find them. One was very helpful. Turned out they weren't as bad as I thought they would be. I had more problems getting a smooth finish on them than cutting them on the lathe.
Here they are. Price goes up next time I make laser cuts. I was fortunate I didn't come down with the screamin meemies today. Everyone knows that screamin meemies are worse than the screamin heebie jeebies . . .
