I was headed to the grocery stores lookin to buy some groceries this AM. I see a huge plume of black smoke ahead of me. You know how us old, retired guys are . . . Gotta go see what's goin on. I thought maybe someone was burning stumps or rubbish, but it seemed very close to the highway. As I got closer I could see that it was someone's truck practically fully involved. There was a deputy on scene and a firetruck was closin in fast behind me.
I went through the intersection and turned around. Didn't them long to get things under control. Not a good day for that guy.
I've come upon a couple car fires in the past. This is the first I've seen one since living around here.
I spotted this last Thursday. As of this AM, it was still there. This tractor is sitting in the parking lot of a small strip mall, a drugstore, a laundromat, a car wash and some offices, a few blocks west of downtown. There aren't any nearby farm fields. The street is under going curb and pavement replacement. Could belong to the construction company, but I've never seen this type of tractor used for this type of work.
One can see a lot of 'curious' things, if they look . . .
