It's Hot Out There . . .

It's finally warmin up . . . Around 2 PM, Weather.Com said the temp was 95, the wind was 11 mph, gustin to 26 and  the humidity was 57%.  All totaled up up they said it feels like 104 out there.  Don't think they are off much.  I went to the mail box shortly before 2 and when I got back in the house, I swear I could smell hot fabric . . . the smell you get when ironing whatever you are ironing gets too hot . . .

I 'dumped' .02" out of the rain gauge this AM.  That makes a grand total of .20" and 2 traces since June 29.  June 28 produced 1.31"  Had a lot of 90 + degree days since then.

dry yard

This is what my backyard looked like a couple hours ago.  Hot wind blowin and even my drought tolerant grass I planted a few yrs. ago looks like it wants to surrender.  Help might be on the way.  NWS put out a severe t-storm watch till 1 AM tonight.  All that's on radar is the train of storms comin off Lake Michigan and travelin across MI to the Detroit area.  Hourly rain percentages are at 100% for the 9 & 10 PM hour . . .  Not holdin my breath on it . . .

The spam people have been busy the last couple days.  Yesterday I receive 21 emails and so far today, I've received 30 emails.  Most of them were this AM.  They came 5 or 6 minutes apart.  Spam seems to find me in spells.  I get a lot for a while, then I get hardly any for a while.  Definitely a busy period this week.

moon

Stepped out on the deck just after dusk last night.  The rising full moon was emerging out of the tree.  I grabbed my camera and shot a few frames.  Pretty decent for not using a tripod.  I knew the pic would be gone if I tried to use a tripod.
Not sure if there was a lot of haze or I wasn't focused sharply on the moon . . .  or maybe a little of both.
