It Ain't All That Easy . . .

I think listin & sellin on eBay is relatively easy.  If your going to do it a lot, you will probably set things up to make it as easy and efficient as possible.   Photographin ball gloves isn't all that easy for me.  I like sellin them.  I can get a decent price and they are easy to find at garage sales and thrift stores.  I'm starting the season with 14.  Like I said before, the tough part is the photograph.

I like to use this 'pose' for my main photo.  Looks simple enough . . . but I'm gonna let you in on all the grumblin, screamin, swearin, throwin & kickin of the glove across the room, etc. that goes on to get a photo similar to the one above.

I have discovered no other way to show a glove in the open position other that puttin my hand in it and holdin it open.  Easy enough to do except when the glove is small.  This one is a 10.5 inch glove and is way too small for my hand.  I sort of balance it on my fingers.  The tough part is holding the glove still while I balance, aim and hold the camera still in my other hand. Did I mention that I gotta get the whole glove in the photo too??  I hafta stretch my gloved arm out as far as it will go.  I own three digital cameras and none of them will allow me to show the complete glove in the picture, unless I am stretched out.  When I am stretched out like this, tryin to hold the camera steady and make sure the complete glove is in the photo, my arms and neck tend to tire quickly and shake. Are ya beginnin to see my problem here?  Putting the camera on tripod doesn't help cause I still hafta hold the glove and see in the view finder.  Right hand gloves are a breeze compared to left hand gloves.  Unless you are left handed, you probably never noticed that cameras are set up for right handed people.  If you are right handed, like myself, try holding a camera with your left only and press the shutter button and get a photo that is in focus to correct the fuzziness with photo editing software.  Even though left hand gloves usually sell quicker and for more money than right hand gloves, I wonder if they are worth it.  I only have two left hand gloves to sell this spring and I spent the morning yesterday, photographing & photographing & photographing . . . . them.
