I live in a small town of 8 to 9 thousand in a very rural area of NW Ohio, but then most of NW Ohio is very rural. Anyway, the headline of today's local newspaper is as follows: "Pig Flew Off Truck, Into Shelter's Care." This headline is above the fold, but set in normal size type for a headline. It seems that a 450 lb. sow fell or was pushed out of a small livestock trailer north of here. Witnesses said the vehicle was traveling about 60 mph. The local Humane Society people were called out to take care of the situation. She was lying in the ditch concious, but stunned. The sow was checked out by a veterinarian who said she would be sore for a few days, but had no broken bones or internal bleeding . . . just some bruises and scrapes (aka: road rash). They said she has been worked with because when someone taps her on her side, she moves in that direction and is very mellow around people.
Ok folks, remember, you read it here first . . .
Now back on page 10 . . .
It seems that "Yarn Bombing" incidents continue in the city of Bryan. This lady said she purchased afghans, etc. from thrift stores to come up with this one.
This is the first local Yarn Bombing I've heard about since last December. Click HERE and scroll down till you see the yarn covered bicycles to read about that one.
I'm thinkin the yard sale season can't get here soon enough for these ladies !!!!!
Things are a lot more laid back relaxed around here than where I used to live, and that is one of the main reasons I live here now . . . But days like today, make me think about havin second thoughts . . .
And now on the more serious side of things . . .
I'm thinkin this is a VERY good thing to do . . .
