April Showers Bring May Flowers . . .

Yesterday was the first of May. The 5.97" of April showers in my back yard seemed to green things up overnight.  I don't recall seeing any green leaves Tuesday, but yesterday was a totally different story.

Some of my Daffodils are still lookin good.  I planted a few Tulip bulbs last fall, but they have budded yet.

There are blooming Forsythias, Flowering Pear trees, Magnolia trees and Tulips all over town.  The grass is a deep green and growin as fast as it can.  I'm thinkin it is definitely spring.

Yesterday I headed out to an unusual Wednesday garage sale.  I got there plenty early.  The ladies were setting up.  I ambled up the drive, said 'Hi' and said " If it is too early to look, I'll help you set up."  The younger of the two put me to work!!  First time that ever happened!  All they had was little kids clothes and the usual stuff that they probably wondered why they ever bought in the first place.

On the way back home, I saw this field.  It was a brilliant purple in the sun.  Not sure what the weed is called.  Don't recall seeing so much of it in one place.

There were a lot sales this morning.  I 'hit' the Buckskin & Trinity Road sales.  Came home with a nice baseball glove, a Big Boy Restaurant bank and a couple other items I don't usually see.

One of those dreaded, little blue-haired ladies, this one in a black Ford SUV, was out garage salin too.  I stopped at a house with a long driveway.  There was a car parked on the side of the driveway, but 5 or 6 car lengths from the road.  One could get by it easily.  Right beside it was the SUV parked in the middle of the drive.  No other cars were anywhere.  I park on the side of the road and hiked the distance.  As I was walking past the cars, the lady got in her SUV and left.  Why she parked at the end of the drive blocking it , I have no idea.  I have no idea why the other car was at the end of the long driveway.  One of the aggravations of garage salin, I guess.

No sales tomorrow, so I will have plenty of time to ponder that 'Why.'
