It started snowing sometime before sunrise. I took this pic of the backyard about 10:30 this morning. We already had 8-10" on the ground from the New Year's Day storm. The temperature was just above freezing until around 3 or 4 PM. That made the snow very wet & heavy.
This was taken around 3:30 PM. The intensity picked around that time and hasn't lessened. They told us to expect 10-14" today. I'm thinkin we are real close to the 10" end of things. The snow is expected to taper off around 11 PM.
Sometime after midnight the temperature is expected to drop below zero until sometime Wednesday morning. The all time low around here is -20. Some of the weather people think it will be broken. The wind is going to pick up and create some killer wind chills and possibly blizzard conditions for a couple days. I'm thinkin most everything in these parts is gonna be closed the next couple days.
