There was a significant amount of new snow last night . . . again. . . and a lot of steady wind. Simon had a hard time seein over the drift on the patio. I caught him layin in the sun on the kitchen table lookin out. He got down as soon as he saw me. He knows he isn't supposed to be up there . . . But it was the only way he could see anything.

This is the honest truth. The sun was shining brightly when I put my coat on to clear out the drive around noon. This is what I saw when I opened the garage door. That was a heck of a 10 minute snow squall ! ! Don't think I've been in one like that since I lived in Lorain County. The sun came out bright like nothing happened when it passed.

I've seen all kinds of vehicles clearin snow around town. From front end loaders to this gator type vehicle. I don't know who owns this vacant lot, but this is the guy who clears the sidewalk. Yesterday I saw a small Ford tractor with a blade clearing sidewalks. Last snowstorm, I saw a golf cart type vehicle with a snow blower attachment on the front. That may have been a home made machine.
The Fort Wayne newspaper had a picture of a city worker checking the ice on a skating pond. He was beating on the ice with a spud looking for weak spots. Think about it . . . beating on ice with a heavy steel rod lookin for weak spots. I'm wonderin if he had spikes on his boots in case he found a weak spot . . .
