A couple weeks ago, someone purchased 4 pens off my Etsy website. Monday evening of this week, that person order 8 more. So I did a quick inventory to see what materials I had on hand. I had enough to do 2. Fortunately the Woodcraft store in Toledo had all the blanks I need to complete the order. I had to order the hardware kits, but they get here in 2 days.
So, Tuesday mornin, I load myself into my Ranger and head to "Frogtown." They've been braggin/complainin about all the snow they have piled up and how close to the all time record they are. Also been a lot of braggin/complainin about all the potholes they have. City and ODOT even convince an asphalt plant to open up for a few days so they could hot patch and pave parts of streets and the interstate. If I believed the news reports too much, I would have been convinced that it was gonna be a one way trip because I was gonna be buried in snow or trapped in a pothole somewhere.
Believe it or not, I got there and back with no problems. Snow-wise, the piles are higher around here. I'm not the only one from around here that has said the same thing. Pothole-wise, I didn't see any significant ones or any patched ones. Soooo, I just don't know . . . but I do know that I got what I needed to start makin pens.
So I fired up my little propane heater and got busy. If the outdoor temps are in the 20's, it does a good job warmin things up. But it was a week of high temps barely into double figures and I froze. So I turned a pen or two and would quit for the day. That floor and the tools are COLD !! I finished everything up today and they will into the mail on Monday.
I was happy to get the order, but it would have been a lot easier if the temps were at least 'seasonal.'
