Cold Day At Merry Lake . . .

It was a cold morning at the annual Merry Lake garage sales.  It was a bit drizzly too.  That cut down on the crowd.  Very few of those dreaded, little, blue-haired ladies, driving their big white or silver cars to get in my way.

I tallied 66 sales.  That was a lot of walkin.

Usually it is curb to curb cars.  It was like that only in a couple spots.  Couldn't believe, well, seein is believing, these people.  They stopped in the middle of the street to load their trailer.  That and a couple strategically parked cars made for a major traffic jam till they got themselves loaded.  A couple years ago, a full size motor home was makin the rounds.  Don't know what those people were thinkin.

This guy had a dozen milk cans.  Don't think I've seen that many in one spot.

The most unusual thing I saw, was this pair of ball and chains.  I don't think I've seen these anywhere in person.

There wasn't much to buy.  Seems like they've sold all the good stuff in previous years.  Some of the same people have sales each year and I've noticed that the offerings are getting smaller.

One place had several baby seats.  I thought about askin if babies came with any on them to see what kind of reaction I'd get, but I didn't.  I'll probably ask it a time or two before the summer is over.

The other day as I was walkin across a parkin lot, I spotted this dog watchin me.  Then I realized it was a mural on the window . . . very lifelike and an attention-getter. I've never seen anything like that.
