Last couple weeks have seen some new garage sale starting times . . . 7 AM and 7:30 AM. Wouldn't be so bad if they had stuff other than what they shouldn't have purchased in the first place. Gotta wonder if those dreaded little blue-haired ladies, who get in my at garage sales and other places got to them and convinced them that earlier starting times would be better for them and would be another way to aggravate me . . .
At a recent sale, I came across this 12 1/2" glove. It had a $10 price tag on it. If it had been a left hand glove, I probably would have paid the $10 bucks and gone to the next sale. Anyway, I offered the lady $5.00. She went into a speel of how much gloves like that cost, etc. I already knew that and offered $7.00. All this time her husband was behind her tryin to keep from laughin out loud. That sort of thing only encourages me. The $7 offer set off another speel of how it wasn't used much and what great condition it was in. I already knew that. I told her that you hafta haggle or it isn't a garage sale and offered $9. The husband was havin a hard time . . . She finally accepted $9.00. After I got my change and was a 'safe' distance, I told her I was prepared to go $9.99. She didn't know what to say or do. The husband went into the house. I don't usually hafta work that hard hagglin . . .
Later that day, I was checkin out the local Goodwill store and came across this left handed, 12 1/2" Wilson glove. The price . . . $3.00 . . . I will probably ask $20 or more on both next spring.
