Great Way To Start The Day!

I looked out the west window this AM about 6:30. The sun was shining brightly and there were dark, threatening clouds moving in from the west. That combination produced a full rainbow. The colors were very brilliant. I grabbed my camera went outside. I was not able to get the full rainbow in one shot.

That isn't a smudge on my lens. It is a small, dark cloud.

This is the 'north end' of the rainbow. This house is directly in front of mine.

This is the 'south end' of the rainbow.

Shooting a rainbow is like shooting clouds, sunsets and sunrises. You have to be in the right place at the right time and have your camera ready. Things change very quickly. Mother nature isn't going to wait for you to get set up. I had an 8 AM dr. appt., otherwise I would have been gone and missed everything. I just happened to look out the window at the right time. I've seen lots of partial rainbows, but I can't recall seeing a full rainbow or a rainbow with the colors as brilliant as they were. The photos on my monitor don't do it justice.
