Anyway, I had so many things goin all day that I decided to watch the Cavs & Pistons on tv last night instead of bloggin last night.
I started the day with a trip to the post office. The clerk, don't remember her name, commented on how nice of a day it was gonna be. I agreed, but said that it was too wet to do anything in the yard. She suggested cleaning the garage. I thought, but didn't say, that the reason I'm not married is women like her. . . clean the garage . . . When I got home, I decided to clean up the Cooper and wax her. Pretty cold out there, but I did it anyway . . . two coats of wax. I used to wax and polish up the Cruiser so it was like lookin at stainless steel in the sun. Both are silver in color. After I finished the waxing, I managed to re-set the clock. Nothing real intuitive about setting anything on the Cooper. It was made in Germany by BMW.
Later I was wandering about the town burning fossil fuels with my truck when I saw this . . .

Bryan has a tire makin factory, Titan Tire Co. A couple yrs. ago they added a pretty big addition to the original factory. They started making big tires for off road construction & mining equipment. This is the first time I've seen this type of trailer anywhere. The tires are hauled vertical instead of stacked 2 high on a trailer. I've heard the price tag on some of these tires is well into 5 figures . . . that's before the decimal point. Last winter I overheard a couple guys at the Y talking about the big tires. Seems that they weren't holding up and they shut the line down for a period of time. Investigation revealed that the tires were being driven a few miles per hour faster than what they were rated. . . something like 20 mph when they were rated for 15 mph. So the moral of the story is, ya better get high speed rated tires if ya plan on goin fast . . .
I ended up drivin down a road that I seldom travel. I was on it to get the tire pic.
This barn is over by the retention pond. Nothing unusual about it 'cept for the Christmas wreath. Today is St. Patrick's Day and I'll bet it is still there . . . Since there aren't any houses nearby, there aren't any neighbors to aggravate. . . .
Gettin closer to home, I stopped at the nearby substation and took this photo.
Always thought this type of thing would make an interesting photo. Drove by an even neater substation last winter. Think it was in Henry County somewhere. Didn't stop cause there was a lot of snow on the ground . . .no where to pull off the road . . .
Yard was still pretty wet yesterday . . . squishy in many spots . . . noticed that I did plant some crocuses last fall . . .where the snow was piled up and was slow to melt.
Spotted a daffodil bud. I have planted at least 200, probably closer to 300 daffodil bulbs since I moved here. In a few weeks my yard will be yellow!
I have blooms !!! I had forgotten that I have some miniature irises here and there. Don't recall them bloomin so early, but I'm gonna let em bloom when they want.
The mild weather makes me think seriously about uncovering my roses, but I'm gonna wait another week and see what the long range temp forecast is. I used to uncover & prune them during spring during spring break. Don't even know when spring break is since retirin. Gonna move a bunch of them this spring and the ground is too wet right now anyway.
Better stop bloggin for now so there will be time today to do something else.
The first sentence appears to be fine. It's the other sentences in the first paragraph that need some work:
ReplyDelete1)comma after Jessica
2)no comma between so, many
3)Hopefully,
Who is to say I'm not a regular reader?
