Friday Garage Sales . . .

Today first day of the community wide garage in Edgerton, which is about 13 miles west of my house. I drove up and down the majority of the streets. They were advertising 50 garage sales. There are some nice houses on some really neat lots tucked away here and there. I spent $9.75 for 11 items. A lady gave me a clear glass lid for Pyrex bowls. They always come in handy.

12 cup

I figger this 12 cup Drip O Lator coffee pot will be my big money maker from today's shopping. Mainly cause it is probably the only item I will put on auction. The other stuff will be 'buy it now.' These old aluminum coffee makers usually get double figures, sometimes in the high teens.

At one sale and elderly man asked the price on a bicycle sitting near the driveway. Lady said it wasn't for sale, then told her son to put it away. In another garage there was a family discussion goin on about why "mom's" slow cooker was being sold. Decided not to get a slow cooker there.

My weather radio just went off again. Got a severe t-storm watch till midnight. There is a good sized storm on this side of Chicago coming this way at about 50 mph. They say it has a history of 75-90 mph winds in it. It is bow-shaped, which is never good!! Could get exciting if it gets here before the sun goes down.

Then there was this little baby girl, don't think she was crawlin age. When she gets hungry, she sticks her tongue out with her mouth wide open. Doesn't usually fuss too much. Grandma was gettin ready to take her in the house and get some oatmeal for her. Sometimes garage sales are interesting even if you don't see anything interesting to buy.

fender skirts

Before I got out of Bryan I saw this truck. It looked 'different' to me. Finally figgered out what it was . . . fender skirts. . . When was the last time you saw a car with fender skirts??? Fender skirts on the Frito Lay truck . . . What will they think of next???

farm bldgs

Took the scenic route back from the garage sales. Spotted these old farm buildings back off the road. No house around anymore.

ventiliated barn

I go past this barn fairly often. Today was the first time I stopped to shoot it. I call it the ventilated barn.

That storm is moving pretty quick, could be a wild night . . .
