Yesterday, Oct. 2, 2010 . . .

Every have one of those days where you think you slept good, but you get up worn out and spend most of the day stumblin, fumblin  and bumblin around ???  Well, I had another one yesterday . . .

In the shower I got soap in my eye really bad . . . Burned so bad I finally got out of the shower and finally got it to stop burning.  Previous experiences like that indicate how the rest of the day will probably go . . .

Then I had had a package going to Australia.  I don't like overseas packages on Saturday mornings.  Guess I could have waited till Monday AM to take it to the post office but I rarely do.  I got into the truck to take it to the post office and realized left it on the kitchen counter.  Finally got it in the truck and realized I left my checkbook and sale bills there too.  I needed the checkbook for the auctions I wanted to check out.

Stopped at Main Stop for a coffee.  Usually drink decaf, but decided on the the real stuff . . . Thought maybe the caffeine would help get me out of my fog . . .

Got parked near the post office and promptly dropped the package in a puddle.  Did I mention it was raining ???  There was only one person ahead of me in the post office which was good.  While waiting, I began wondering why the post office never seems to have sales, or coupons . . . Decided to wait till another time to inquire . . . the clerk on duty doesn't have the best sense of humor when it comes to my post office questions.

On the way to the first auction, I took one of the last gulps of my coffee and got more grounds than coffee.  Had to pull over to spit the grounds out.  Don't know about you, but I hate it when that happens . . .

The first auction was in Bryan.  There were 4 lots I wanted so I decided to stay there.  They had a tent and the wind wasn't a factor, what more could one want.  I just had a 45 minute wait till it started.  I bought another 'real' coffee from the snack truck to wash the rest of the coffee grounds away and hang around.

When the auction began, I noticed quite a few of those dreaded little (and a couple not so little) blue-haired ladies that seem to love to do things that annoy me beginning to gather near me.  I never noticed the size of purses they carry . . . very large . . . I even recognized a couple from garage salin . . .   I ended up next to about three of them.  The first lot that I wanted was a set of 3 pyrex measuring cups . . . The largest was a quart . . . Don't know why they made 'em so big, but I wanted them at the right price.  The tiny blue haired lady was trying to bid on them too.  She was beside me.  The auctioneer was lookin directly at me and takin my bid.  I think the lady thought he was takin her bid.  She was so little the auctioneer didn't notice her.  I'm think that I'm gonna get these cups and get get back at one of these annoying little blue-haired ladies for a change.  At the last minute the guy who holds up stuff noticed her and took her bid.  I decided that the price was getting too high and she got them . . .  I got 2 of the 4 lots I wanted which isn't too bad.

On the way home I stopped the local grocery store.   Returning to my truck in the parking lot I noticed this beagle type dog laying in the back window of his car.  He had his head down on his paws looking like his humans had left him there forever and he didn't have a friend left in the world.  Everyone was stopping to look and chuckle at him.  I went back to take a photo.

And, of course,  he sensed I was there taking an unwanted photo.  He just sort of  'glared' at me for the longest time.   I tried to explain that it was for my blog and I wasn't gonna make fun of him and that I only have a couple of regular readers . . . but he wouldn't accept my explanation and pose for me.  What are ya gonna do . . .  It was one of those days . . .

I was pretty well chilled through from standin around so long and took a hot shower to warm up when I got home.  No problems with the soap this time . . .

After all the fumblin, stumblin and bumblin around all morning without doing any permanent damage to myself or anyone else, I decided to keep a very low profile for the rest of the day.
