This 'N That Kinda Stuff . . .

sunset  nov 10

Last evening as I was walking out of the local YMCA, I was face to face with this . . .  This is what was left of one the better sunsets I've seen in a long time.  It faded very quickly during the time it took for me to travel the 200 ft or so to my truck and camera.  I didn't have time to make adjustments to get a sharper image, but I hope you get the idea.  Much more spectacular in person.  Photo doesn't do it justice.  One of the keys to getting great sunrise/sunset or cloud photos is being in the right place at the right time and ready to shoot.

What's with the squirrels this year . . . Around here I see them sittin one the curb and at the last minute try to cross the street.  Are they depressed and suicidal or just playin Russian roulette.  Either way, it seems that there is a thinning of the herd goin on around here . . .

Second morning of very heavy fog around here.  Lots of schools on 2 hr. delay.  I was in the local grocery store earlier this AM when they made an announcement sayin the Bryan City Schools were closing for the day.  I know that we are in the middle of nowhere and not much happens very often . . . that can be a good thing, but announcing that the schools are closed in the grocery store . . .

Went to the dr. to get the results of the testing of my blood.  He said I was definitely did not have diabetes.  I corrected him sayin "I got it controlled."  After a second, he agreed.  Once ya have it, you always have it.  I got my levels below the pre-diabetic level.  Not gonna change anything . . . gonna continue bein particular about what I eat and worryin about getting enough exercise.

Saw something new yesterday . . . and couldn't get a camera on it.  A guy was ridin what looked like a tricycle type moped.  Didn't know they made such a contraption.  Moped for the elderly, I guess.  I've seen several tricycle type motorcycles and there is a couple of 3-wheel cycles around town that have two wheels in front.

Saw a little smilin guy in the Walmart the other day.  He was really little . . . I want to say knee high, but  I would be exaggerating . . .  and I never do that . . .   He was wearin this jeans and jeans jacket, had a round Charlie Brown type face with a big, award winnin smile standing at the end of an aisle gettin people to smile back at him.  Parents were a few feet down the aisle.  I'm wonderin if there are other Walmart greeters in the family . . .

  1. Yep that sunset was the best in a while! The squirrels seem to do that every spring and fall out here. They lay spread eagle in the roads perfectly still. Almost hit a few dodging them thinking they were dead when they suddenly jump up and run!
