It was a week of nothing much happenin. I have managed not to go to Walmart today, which is Saturday . . . . So far . . . Some really weird people seem to find the local Walmart on Saturdays. I did go last Wed, I think. Did you know that people to Walmart to get flu shots? I saw a lady get her's in front of everybody. They have a table set up in front of the cash registers. I must be old fashioned or something like that, but I think shots should be given behind a curtain at the very least.
Last Monday I decided to mow some of the sections I usually mow on Tuesdays. Sometimes I get crazy like that. I was mowin around the ladie's tee box on hole 8. I noticed several cigar wrappers in the waste basket. Now I'm wonderin what kind of cigar smokin women play on the weekends . . .
I got real tired of near t-shirt mowin weather one day and the next day I was in full carharts . . . Been sick enough this summer with that hackin cough I had most of the summer. Joe, the sewer project engineer, told me what kind of shoes to get to keep my feet warm. My feet get really cold some days. He should know, he stands around watchin guys work in all kinds of weather . . . Found a pair today at Gander Mountain that should help.
One mornin this week the fire alarm came on at the hospital as I was drivin by. Quite an attention-getter with all those strobe lights flashin in all the rooms.
Took my cat, Patches T. Cat, to the vet for a check up and tests. She is about 18 yrs old now and is actin her age. She lost a couple ounces and weighs an even 8 pounds. Got some of her test results back already and they are ok. The big one is the status of her thyroid. Should get the results the first part of the week. She has good days and not so good days . . .
I think it was Thursday PM when I saw three young deer runnin north tween the 1st & 2nd fairways. At least they weren't runnin on the fairways. The rut will be happenin soon and things could get real interesting round here. I think it was two yrs ago that there were more deer runnin around on the course than golfers . . .
Did you know that today is the halfway point tween last year's and next years St. Patrick Day's? All week O'Brien's here in Bryan has been advertising their halfway St. Patrick's Day celebration. Green Beer is half price and they will half sandwiches that are popular on St. Patrick's Day. Can't remember what they are right now.
With the recent rain and cool weather the grass is really growin again. Yesterday, I had to mow spots that I mowed Monday and Tuesday. It occurred to me that I can't use this job as reference for another. What are they gonna say?? He does a good job drivin the mower around but the grass never stays mowed, sometimes not even for a week. That's gonna help me get a different job, now isn't it ??????
