Christmas On The Square . . .

Took a walk around the town square this evening with my camera and shot some of the decorations.  I used the 'candle light' setting and didn't use a tripod.  I thought most were pretty sharp under the circumstances.

Today's Photo -- Ice Rink Display

ice rink display

I went back this evening to get a shot of the ice skating display in front of Bryan's ice rink. It looks a lot better in person . . . but then most Christmas lights do. These are the blue led lights. Haven't figgered out why I can't pick up the true color. Too #@$%^ cold to do any experimenting tonight.

Today's Photo -- Christmas In Bryan

Decided to take my tripod and camera downtown and take a couple shots of the courthouse. I found out I have a lot to learn about nights shots and this camera. I only got a couple good ones out of the 12-15 I took. There is always another night . . .

Bryan court House SE corner

I took this one from the SE corner of the square. The courthouse square is very well decorated. Around Thanksiving, the Chamber of Commerce and the city parks dept. invite the towns people to help set up everything. The city utilities dept. takes care of the lights leading to the courthouse bell tower. I've watched them do it and it is a long tedious job.

Bryan Courthouse NE corner

This one was taken from the NE corner of the square. The other two corners were well blurred.

bryan Park

I've always liked this display. There are trees on each side of an entrance to one of the city parks. They have a display of reindeer set up on each side. Like I said before, I need to re-read my manual and go shoot some more another evening.

Today's Photo -- 43462

Rudolph Post Office
I got up this AM with a bad case of 'cabin fever.'  Around noon I decided I had to do something about it. . . maybe something like my trip to Hell & back last winter.  Anyway within the hour I decided to get the MINI out of the garage and go lookin for 43462, the Rudolph OH post office.  43462 is always in the news this time of year.  It is located in a very little town called Rudolph, which is a few miles SW of Bowling Green.  Every year they get thousands of Christmas cards to postmark.  They hand stamp them with their Rudolph, The Red Nose Reindeer stamp.  If I hadda been thinkin clearly . . . sometimes 'cabin fever' plays tricks with one's mind, I'd a taken a card with me an had it stamped to show you.  But what're ya gonna do. . . at least I was able to find my way home. . .

Christmas Lights In Downtown Bryan

Photobucket

Bryan is known for its downtown Christmas lights. Strands of colorful lights are strung from the courthouse tower to the buildings across the street. Airline pilots sometimes point out the lights to their passengers as they fly overhead during the night.
