Black Pyrex

 

On one of my almost daily visits to the local Goodwill store, I spotted this.  It is a Pyrex 0503 refrigerator bowl.  Paint was pretty decent and I knew I had a lid at home to fit it, so I flashed my Golden Buckeye card and paid 97 cents for it. 

 I have never seen solid black Pyrex anywhere till that day.  I did some internet research and checked my reference books and there was nothing about black Pyrex.  I wondered if it was a 'promotional' piece.  I decided to price it about the same as the other 0503's on eBay.  Thirteen minutes later it was sold and paid for!  One of my quicker sales. 

Now I'm wonderin if that guy, yes it was a guy who bought it, got himself too good of a deal.  Oh, well.  I had a total of about a buck seventy five in it and got 10.95 for it.  

I'm hopin the rest of the set finds it way to the shelves when I am there.   

Hittin It Big ! ! !

After a couple weekends of next to nothin garage sales, I hit it big  . . . I'm talking a 'mother lode' of Blue Cornflower Corning ware.  


Last Thursday PM, I spotted all these on a lower shelf at the local Goodwill.  It wasn't all 'peaches & cream' buy. There was one of those dreaded, little blue-haired ladies with a giant cart comin down the aisle.  She stopped just short of the Corning Ware.  I had an important, quick decision to make.  Since she was payin no attention to me (I didn't really believe that, they are definitely out to get me), do I get down on my hands and knees to inspect everything and risk bein run over and possibly seriously injured by a giant grocery cart or do I wait for her to hopefully pass and not check out 'my' Corning Ware.  I decided to risk, life, limb and injury and check out the Corning Ware.  All pieces were in excellent condition!  So I bought 'em.  I knew I had some lids at home that would fit and there were only a couple that I didn't have lids.  

The lady turned out to be a nice, if for no other reason than that she didn't run me over.  She made the comment that those sell well on eBay.  I said I know and that is why I am purchasing them.  She said she used to sell on eBay, but developed some health problems and gave it up.  

The next day I went back, hopin to find a lid or two.  Right there in plain sight was another piece of Corning Ware. I don't know if I missed it the day before or it was put out that day.  At the checkout, the clerk said she put out what she thought was a set.  I told her I bought them all yesterday.  

Now I hafta find some shippin boxes for the larger pieces.  So far, no luck.  

Jamaican Me Crazy . . .

 
Big news around town this week.  The local Circle K has a new coffee flavor.  The coffee lady says she hasn't tried it and that it has an interesting smell.  Said it has been pretty popular.  So, I tried it.  All I can say is that I don't, don't like it, but that it probably won't be my first choice tomorrow. 

Not been a good week for garage sales . . . Nothin for 19 or 20 sales.  Just nothin out there that I think I could sell.  Plenty of those little blue-haired ladies with their humongous purses and their big white or silver cars gettin in my way, out and about.  Something really should be done about them. 

Tomorrow is the Annual Merry Lake sale.  Should be plenty of sales and hopefully plenty of stuff that I can sell.  


At the beginn of this past week, it was "summerlike and the livin was easy.'  Since then it has been borderline cold and damp.  Highs been in the low to mid 50's.  





 
Simon, my big, long, orange, almost 13 lb., tabby cat has taken a likin to my Buggatti scale model kit.  Picked it up at a garage sale about a year ago.  They go for very good money on eBay.  Been lookin for a box to ship it in every since.  Thought I had one this week, but it is a tad bit too small.  One of the things I consider when buyin stuff to 'eBay' is the ease of finding a box to ship it in.

Acute Boredom . . .

Yep, I'm pretty sure that is what I got.  Can't think of anything  interesting to do . . . and what I end up doing isn't interesting at all.  Oh well, what can one do?  It will pass.

Yesterday, I decided take a 'buyin trip' to check out the Goodwills in Napoleon, Wauseon, Toledo and Bowling Green.  I'm very low on stuff to list on eBay.  And since I haven't driven the MINI since the first part of December, I figgered it was time.  It was fun dodging the potholes with it.  I was shifting up and down like I was drivin in one of those European road rallies.

First stop was Napoleon.  I found a piece of Corning Ware.  At the checkout, one of those dreaded, little, blue-haired ladies was ahead of me.  Would you believe she had  two Corning Ware coffee pots.  I love getting my hands on those.  I screwed up by stopping at Wendy's for one of their fish sandwiches.  I was debating with myself on whether to stop and eat first or go on to the store, then eat.  I beat the lunch rush, but I missed out on two pieces of Corning Ware.  Not the greatest start.

Next stop was Wauseon.  Picked up two pieces.  Two for two.  I haven't done this well for a long time.  Donations have been down this winter. 

On to the Toledo store. First thing I saw was a lady younger than those dreaded, little, blue-haired ladies that get in my way and everyone else's way, including their way at times.  She was looking at a set of four Corning Ware P-41-B's with lids.  Lids are hard to come by this winter.  She noticed me staring at her and the p-41's.  Probably cause the p-41's were gettin hot from me starin at them.  Her expression wasn't exactly friendly.  I started wonderin if I could take her if it came to that.  She was almost as tall as me, but didn't weight as much as me.  She wasn't wearin a Carhartt or camo jacket, so I figgered she lived in the city.  I figgered I would have a better than even chance, even with the bursitis I've had in my left shoulder all winter.  Well . . . she blinked and put two of them down and I grabbed them without further incident.  Another successful stop!  

Just for the heck of it I stopped at the Saver's down the street.  It is a donation store, but I think it is a for profit store.  Things are usually on the expensive side.  I found another good piece of Corning ware.  It has been a long, long time since I've had a trip like this one.  

Before heading to the Bowling Green store, I topped off the tank with some $3.33 gas.  Bryan gas has been $3.69 for a couple weeks.  After a shakey start, I'm doin well. 



I thought about this 'sign' on the front of this trucking company building in time to stop and shoot it.  It is a scale model of a Kenworth. It is one of my favorite signs.  I'm usually past it before I think about it.  It is north BG.


There was nothing at the Bowling Green store.  Four out of five and $3.33 gas isn't bad. even with losing those coffee pots.  Today, I'm cleanin them up and will start posting.

Ball Glove Time . . .

It's gettin to be ball glove time for my eBay Store . . . 


I think I have 18-20 gloves to list.  I'll probably start listing next week.  Most of them go the southern and western states.  They are getting close to starting their seasons in those parts.  I know the Detroit Tiger Fantasy camp is this week and I'm sure there are others goin on also.  In a couple weeks or so pitchers and catchers will be reporting to spring training.  

If this year is like years past, they will be gone by the end of March. 

Jeezzzz, It's Cold Out There ! ! !

Don't how to say it any different.  It is cold out there !  I think it is the wind more than anything else.  Oh well, what ya gonna do? 

I went 'boxin' this morning.  I found what I was lookin for at the first store.  It wasn't as easy as it sounds.  The dreaded and annoying little blue haired ladies were out in droves !  In two different parts of the store, they set up their carts so they were blocking everything from all directions, so they could visit with each other.  Commerce of any volume and type came to a halt.  I don't know how else to describe it . . . 

When I got my boxes home, I decided to cut them to fit a couple things I've had on the shelves for way too long.  So, I got my box cutter and ruler out and cut down my new boxes to fit.  I don't know why, but it is something I really don't like to do.  


And, of course, the inspector appeared.  Fortunately, my work was given a passing grade.  

Gettin Tough . . .

Can you tell that it was tough findin a pic to put on the blog today ? ? ?  I downloaded everything I need to do the taxes.  I don't have all the documents I need yet.  I usually input info as I get it.  

I had an order for 6 sets of cookie cutters waiting for me first thing this morning.  The lady had no feedback, so she is probably new to eBay.  She must really like to bake cookies or she has a bakery.  A couple times or three each year I get an order like that.  

I have a cookie cutter order going to Singapore, but PayPal won't let me print a label.  I'm thinkin I'm gonna cancel the order and refund his money.  I asked him to confirm his address and it still makes no sense.  Why does one need two identical lines of info in an address?  

The sun was bright all day.  The wind has been a steady 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30.  That means yesterday's and last night's new snow is drifting . . . and they are mentioning some light freezing rain tonight. 

Hopefully I can come up with a more interesting photo to post tomorrow.

Corning Ware P-185-B . . .

Made the rounds of the local thrift stores this afternoon.  I spotted four of these on a shelf.  They are Corning Ware P-185-B's.  I had never seen them before.  They are a sandwich or snack plates.  I put my smart phone to use and discovered they are getting a decent price on eBay.  I brought them home and cleaned them up.  Now I hafta figger out the best way to sell them.  I have several combinations in mind. 

There were signs in the door of the local Goodwill store.  They are having a 50% off sale for the rest of January and will be closed for the month of February to remodel the store.  I should have asked if they are going to put new merchandise tween now and February.

Some poor guy bought a Corning Ware casserole from me late this afternoon. Right after that I get a frantic email from him.  Seems he broke his wife's prize casserole.  The one he bought  is the replacement.  He wanted me to be sure  to get it in the mail ASAP.  Not the first time I've received a similar email. 

Inspected by Simon . . .

I've picked up 5 ball gloves during the past couple weeks.  I found three at the local Goodwill today. I laid them out for a pic and Simon appears from who knows where to inspect them.  He likes to inspect everything I bring home for eBay.  Maybe I should print up some tags that say "Inspected By Simon" and staple them to the invoice. 

Ramblin Mike's Not So Little Helper . . .

I've had a set of Sears Little Learner's Brix Blox for a couple months.  I had not listed them till today because they required an odd sized shipping box.  I had to do a cut and tape of a larger box to get what I needed.  The set is supposed to have 1013 pieces.  I always count pieces when I get something like this.  Yes, people will complain if a piece or two is missing.  So I sat myself down and started counting.  I came up with 1113 pieces.  I counted them a second time and came up with the same number.  Exactly 100 pieces more than what the box states.  I wasn't about to count them a third time, so I put my 'predicament' in the description.  The part of my 'predicament' that I didn't put in the description was all the unwanted help I was getting trying to count pieces. Simon, my big, long, orange, 12 lb. 11 oz. tabby cat insisted on helping.  




He even insisted on being in the photos I needed for the listing.  


When I tried to explain that he couldn't be in the photos, I got the 'Look.'

Good & Bad . . .

The last couple days have been interesting.  Good things happen, then bad things happen, sometimes within minutes of each other.  

First thing Friday mornin, I checked my eBay & ETSY listings.  I found that I had sold two pens off ETSY . . . and to the same person.  First time I've done that.  That was the good thing.  The bad thing was that somehow there was a double listing for the pen.  She "bought" both of them.  So I immediately emailed her to explain the problem.  I figgered I would lose the sale.  But after some back and forth emails, she bought the original pen and another similar one.  Things were good again.  

There was Friday estate sale advertised in the next town. I found a box of misc. Corning Ware for $10.  Been a while since I've found anything for eBay.  After a quick inspection in a dark room, I brought it home . . . a good thing.  Upon further inspection in better light at home, I found several pieces that I may not list  . . . not all that good. I'm pretty sure I'll get my 10 dollar back soon.   

Saturday, I sold out of my Old Fashion Christmas Tree Ornament cookie cutter sets.  Sold a record 86 sets this year. I think I could have easily sold another dozen sets if I had them on hand.  It is bad that I ran out, but good that I sold so many.  Not enough time to re-order for this year.  

 
There was an auction at the local fairgrounds yesterday mornin.  There were several things that caught my interest.  

 
This old cook stove was interesting.  I wasn't interested in bidding on it, it was just interesting to see something like that at this auction.  That is what I like about auctions . . . you never know what you are gonna see. 

I spotted a couple Corning Ware casseroles in their original boxes!!  I've only spotted Corning Ware in original boxes one other time.  Those boxes seem to indicate that the pieces were a bank give away.  Who says banks only gave away toasters??  At the time I thought I was in on something good!  Well, it seems that the heirs to the estate were buying everything and it didn't matter how high they bid.  That was good for the auctioneer.  I watched them fill an outbuilding with their purchases.  I didn't bother bidding on anything at that auction, because when relatives start bidding on stuff, you might as well go home.  

I out bidded one of those dreaded little blue-haired ladies and got both pieces at a reasonable price.  I got one of those disgusted, 'dirty' looks when she gave up.  Ya can't let kind of stuff bother ya . . . Upon further inspection at home, I'm pretty sure neither casserole has been used.  They both have cardboard just in them from the packing materials.  Gonna try to get them listed soon after I post this.  My eBay link is on the left side if you are interested.  

A bad thing happened at the auction . . . The auctioneer completely lost his voice after about 10 minutes of selling.  All he could do was cough and sputter.  It seems he had a cold, but didn't think it was gonna be a problem.  He found another guy to sell while he went lookin for his voice.  After another 10-15 minutes, he found it and started sellin again.  Never saw anything like that happen till now.  Don't know how long his voice lasted cause I left as soon as the stuff I wanted was sold. 

Like I said before, it has been a couple days of good things, then bad things and good things again. 

And now that I'm tryin to photograph the casseroles I bought yesterday, I find that all three of my camera's batteries need charged.  How does something like this happen.  I mean with three cameras . . .

11-12-13 . . .

Yep, it is one of those days, 11/12/13 . . . They say it won't happen for another hundred years or so. 

Got some snow last night.  A lot of people are thinkin it is the first snow of the year, but back on Oct. 25 there was snow here.  I have a pic on the blog to prove it.  

Early this mornin, I thought I was takin a shortcut to the local doughnut shop.  If the train had not gotten in my way it would have worked out.  It was a coal train headed east.  I got what I was lookin for . . . a plastic bucket with a lid.  I fill them with sand or stone and put them in the bed of my pick up in the winter.  

First thing this morning, I replaced a broken shoe string.  I tossed the old one into the waste basket.  Simon, my big, long, orange, 12 lb. 9 oz., tabby tom cat, rushed over to investigate.  He decided that he should have it.  He tipped over the waste basket, grabbed and ran.  He already has one, I guess two is better.  

Here he is soakin up extra sunlight.  He doesn't like to let it go to waste.  

I had a pile of packages for the post office today.  From Saturday's delivery to today's delivery, I processed 18 packages.  Would have been 19, but PayPal put a hold on one.  Two more came in after I took this pic.  I get a burst of purchases similar to this weekend a couple times a year. 

Things Are Changin Fast !!!!

After a couple days of $3.04, I was greeted with this . . .  I filled up yesterday, instead of waiting another day.  I lost this time around, but I'm glad to see the price falling.  Milk continues to hold steady at 2 gallons for $5.99. 


I spotted a new sign on the landscape this morning.  It looks freshly painted on a piece of 3/4 inch plywood.  I'm guessin I'm gonna see more of these here and there.  I'll let you know if I do and if I find out the story, if there is one, behind them.

Interesting article in the news this AM.  A farmer in New Hampshire raised about 50 turkeys for Thanksgiving.  He has been feeding them lager beer since 1993.  Seems that he set a can down and it was knocked over and a couple turkeys helped themselves.  He and his customers insist the beer makes the birds fatter, more flavorful and juicier.  If NH wasn't so far away, I'd look this guy up and see how big of beer bellies his turkeys get . . . 

Of course, PETA says he shouldn't be doing this.  A cooperative extension agent see no harm.  He says, "It's just enjoying a beer with their meal.  Why not?"  Someone from the American Humane Association says their standards don't prohibit serving beer to animals.  I'm thinkin, "Why is this in the news?"  

Sent out a Corning Ware casserole to Canada this AM.  I rarely send this kind of stuff out of the US.  She paid over $18 postage.  I'm thinkin she borrowed it from someone and broke it and needs a replacement.  I've had a couple customers get to me with similar stores. 

Thought I Was Gonna Be Skunked . . .

Today was the Annual Edon Garage Sales.  There were 39 sales on the list.  I found 34 of them.  It took me nearly 20 sales before I found something to buy . . . And I probably wouldn't have bought that 50 cent little kid's ball glove if I wasn't gettin worried about being 'skunked.'  It was sale after sale of little kids clothes.  I finally started to find stuff to buy.  I spent a grand total of $6.00 for six separate items.  The 25 cent bag of crayons will go to the YMCA day care/pre school program.  I figger they will eventually put up a monument of a crayon in my honor.  Hey, ya gotta what recognition ya can . . . 

Stuff was goin really cheap.  More than one person told me they wanted to get rid of stuff.  Checked some of the items on eBay and I think that $6 investment could get me a pretty nice return.  Time will tell.  

At one sale I heard a voice say, "Well, hi there!"  Turns out the owner of the voice is the manager of the local Circle K.  She was at her mother-in-law's house selling some of her kids' too small clothes.  I asked why she didn't bring one of the Circle K coffee machines to the sale.  I would've bought a cup . . . 

Got a lot of rain overnight.  I think the Edon area got a lot more than I did . . . and I got almost 2".  There were many, many places where the water was over the road.  Needless to say, I came home with one, very muddy truck.  

I was washing it in my drive a little while ago.  The guy across the street started mowing his yard.  And, of course, it started raining.  I thought to myself, "I can see the headlines.  Neighbors argue over who caused it to rain . . . the guy washing his truck or the guy mowing his lawn. Police called to quell the argument."
  It was just a few drops and nothing happened. 

Was This Da Je Vue Or Something Like That ???

Earlier this week I took a box of stuff that I couldn't sell to one of the local thrift stores.  This morning I visited this store looking for something I could sell on eBay.  I saw some new stuff on the shelves.  It has been a while since there has been anything new in any of the local stores.  My excitement was short lived when I noticed that most of the new stuff was the stuff I brought in.  

There was a casserole that caught my eye.  I was thinkin that I had sold one like it at one time or another.  At the same time I wasn't sure about it . . . maybe this was one of my donations.  It was in good shape, not a super popular pattern, but I thought  could sell it.  On the other hand, was it a piece that I had donated.  I stood there for a bit wondering whether to buy it, buy it back or leave it there.  I finally decided to leave it.  

When I got home I checked out my photos.  I have a pic of that pattern with a lid.  The one in the store didn't have a lid.  I checked my shelves for the lid and didn't find one.  I never donate lids unless they are chipped, etc.  So I'm thinkin that I sold one like the one in the store, but I'm still not convinced it wasn't one I donated.  I haven't gone back to the store to see if it is still there.  

Sometimes sellin of eBay is hard work . . .

Verified By Simon . . .

Yesterday afternoon, I was searching for something to list on eBay.  I have plenty of stuff, but I don't always have the right size box to ship it in.  Finding something that would fit in a box that I have was the objective.

 
I found a Hasbro Tente Building Blocks 101 set underneath some stuff.  I have no idea how long I've had it or where I got it.  I buy very few toys, because I don't know a whole lot about them. I do know that anything 'Leggo-Like" sells well.  


The box said something about it containing 95 blocks.  I decided to count them to see how many were missin.  Unless the box is factory sealed the odds of having all the parts are on the slim side.  I counted 88 total pieces.  A number verified by my helper cat, Simon.  

I sold it to a lady in Quebec last evening.  The USPS raised rates this week.  The international rates went up big time!!  She paid $10.99  for the blocks and around $15 for postage.  The set was made in the late '70's.  I sell a lot of nostalgia.  

I sold a Pyrex baking dish to someone in Australia earlier this past week.  Postage on that was $35.  She asked about combining postage that purchase with a casserole. Postage on the two pieces would have been something like $68.  She declined the casserole.  If one wants something bad enough, they will pay the price.  

Back to the building blocks . . . the box wasn't gonna fit in my mailbox, so that meant a trip to the post office.  Two or three inches of snow fell last night and this morning.  


Street conditions were on the messy side.  I saw this gator with a snow blade at an intersection.  This guy probably does parking lots, with cars in them.  A nice size for that kind of situation.  A couple winters ago, I saw a gator with a blade and a salt spreader in the back.  Nice set up.  


A few minutes later I spotted this Bobcat and snowblade.  He had just finished touchin up a parking lot.  

Since I was already out and about, I decided that I needed a blueberry Belgium waffle.  And since I sent this video around this week, I knew I was gonna flub tellin the waitress that I would like a 'blueberry Belgium waffle," which I did.  Can you say that three times fast??  Or even one time slow????

That Is One Cold . . .

That is one cold January sunset.  It has been a couple years since it has been this cold around here.  At the moment it is 11 degrees with a wind chill of 4.  I've seen the wind chill in the minuses during last half hour or so.  

Yesterday, my niece was in the area and stopped in so I could meet my newest grand-nephew, Camdyn.  Camdyn is about 8 months old.  Simon, my big red tabby cat, didn't know what to make of all this.  He was just about always within an arm's length of Camdyn during the two hour visit.  He kept a very close eye on him.  I was impressed.  Every try to keep a cat's attention for a couple hours?  When they left, Simon reminded me that it was time for his supper, then he retired to my bed for a nap.  He was still there when I went to bed.  Just goes to show you that keepin a close eye on little ones can tire out the cat too.

I had a major problem with the new computer over the weekend.  My email quit receiving emails early Saturday morning. I didn't think much of it on Saturday.  Saturdays are usually pretty light when it comes to emails.  Still had problems Sunday.  It turned out to be a simple removal of a check mark in the properties box of my email provider.  I obviously tried every combination but that one.  That check mark kept me from downloading my mail.  The help desk guy said that for some unknown reason that a check in that box is the default.  I had filled my mailbox.  He made my mailbox larger, so I shouldn't have that problem till I set up a new computer and forget about that check mark.  One of the aggravating parts of all this is that I lost all the mail on the server.  And of course, since I couldn't download email, I started selling cookie cutter sets like crazy.  Would you believe an even dozen from the middle of Sunday afternon to this morning.  Probably a record . . . if I kept records.  Since I had to 'go through the backdoor' to print address labels, it took me around an hour and a half to get them ready for the post office people.  If I start with the email from eBay, I can process labels in half the time.  

When people say they are working out computer/software glitches on new systems, they are tellin the truth.  Things will smooth out eventually.  

This is what is goin out tomorrow . . . so far.  No way is it gonna fit into my mailbox at the street. 

World's Most Difficult Jigsaw Puzzle . . .

I was searching the local thrift stores a few days ago.   I usually buy only certain puzzles.  This one intrigued me.  I had never heard of the World's Most Difficult Jigsaw Puzzles.  This one was still in shrink wrap so I purchased it.  Set me back 54 cents.  All jigsaw puzzles are 50 cents and tax at this shop.  Hard to go wrong.  Hafta admit I have a few times and I've donated them back to the store.  Oh well, I'm not gonna sell everything.

Turns out there are a lot of World's Most Difficult Jigsaw Puzzles, fish, M&M's, tennis balls, etc.  Go to eBay.com and type 'World's Most Difficult Jigsaw Puzzles' in the search box.  If you think you hafta have a penguin one, you can get mine by clickin HERE.

These puzzles usually have 529 pieces.  Have no idea why the number '529.'  The picture is printed on both side.  It is cut so that there are no indentations on either side of the piece.  Then to make it interesting, the artwork is 90 degrees to each other.  Not my idea of fun, but to each his own.  Did you know that there are jigsaw puzzle assembly contests?  Many years ago, one of my neighbors and her sister qualified for the national jigsaw puzzle contests.  Don't recall how they did.  There must be contests for everything. 

Go Ahead & Sell It . . .

Not sure what came over me this afternoon, but I sat down and listed a few items on eBay.  I heard some rustlin behind me.  I turned around and it was Simon inspecting this 4 qt. Pyrex mixing bowl.  He decided that it wasn't comfortable enough to lie in.  He squirmed around tryin to sit in it and gave up.  Gave me permission to go ahead and sell it.  I'm done listing today. I'll probably list it tomorrow.

Rain, Legos & Simon . . .

There has been a drastic weather change the last couple days.  I believe it is called rain.  I have heard of it, but I haven't seen any of it for weeks.  It started raining Tuesday night.  By Wednesday morning, I had .73" of it in my rain gauge.  This morning I had 2.24" more in my rain gauge.  That is a bit over 3" in about a day and a half.  The nice thing about it was that is was a reasonably gentle, soakin type rain.  No flooded streets or yards.  The landscape is turnin green as I type. I'm just wonderin how much, if any, of my lawn is beyond help.  There were more weeds than grass when I moved here eight years ago.  I tore it up and replant with a drought tolerant variety of grass.  It has held up very well.  Time will tell how many burned out lawns we have around here.  


It was rainin yesterday mornin when I went garage salin.  I stopped at my favorite gas station coffee for some gas station coffee.  As I was parkin, I started wonderin how many people try to buy coffee at the drive-thru window.  I think those drive-thru windows are kinda stupid anyway.  If ya can't walk into the place to get what ya want, them maybe you don't really need it.  Anyway, I went in and got my own coffee.  Then I asked the young lady if many people try to buy coffee at the drive-thru window.  She said every once in while someone will try it, but it doesn't work very well.  She did say if there is someone that they know who can't get around very well, they will get coffee for them.  


Pretty much drew a zero on the garage sales yesterday and even today.  Wednesday, I blogged about the Legos I found at the only garage sale listed in the newspaper.  Yesterday PM,  I listed them.  It took just under an hour for them to sell!  Got $35.00 for them.  Not bad for a $3.00 purchase!!  Now if I could do that a couple times every week . . . 



For some reason Simon was very interested in that box of Legos.  He was not a happy cat when I sealed up the box to take it to the Post Office.  Here he is pouting.  He obviously hasn't learned that everything that goes on around here revolves around him.  I sometimes wonder if he will learn that.  


I see where Burger King is offering bacon sundaes now . . . for a limited time, of course.  Gotta wonder if they expect a big percentage of their customers to try it once.  Don't think I'm gonna be one of them.


A retired man bought an unused church here in town.  He is makin it into a restaurant and a couple other enterprises.  Apparently it has been a long time since the building has been used as a church or the bell has been rung when it was a church.  No one knew anything about the bell.  The owner figgered that the bell had been removed and was at best in someone's barn somewhere.  It seems that a worker was explorin the bell tower for whatever reason . . . and . . .  guess what . . . he discovered a bell up there.  Why would the bell to a church be in the bell tower???  I don't know either.  The story was on the front page of the local newspaper . . . Such is life in a small town . . .
