The 'Big Blow of October' didn't do much damage in my immediate area. I don't think there were many gusts above 45-50 mph in my yard. My barometer did drop to 28.36 inHG. It is reading 29.73 at the moment. I was hopin for some significant rainfall, but only .16 made it to my rain gauge. That makes .42 for October. Gotta start rainin sometime . . .
Most of the storm damage was south and east of me. I heard that somebody's carport ended up in a tree. I tracked it down this AM.
It is definitely in a tree.
And it is a pretty good sized tree . . . I'm guessing it is 25-30 feet off the ground. I'm wonderin how they are going to get it out of the tree. Also wonderin if their homeowner's policy will cover it . . . demolition clause maybe ??? I might run this one by my insurance guy and see what he thinks. . .
The other 'big damage' area I heard about was over by Evansport. Eight electric poles were broken by the wind.
The road was blocked off and I wasn't able to get close enought for a photo of any of the busted poles. The busted poles were like this one . . . not exactly some of the smaller poles in the area.
Drivin back home I saw another 'Bryan First' for me. A little, well, she wasn't the littlest I've ever seen, blue-haired lady was drivin her moped down the street. She had a back pack, was wearin a safety green windbreaker and had a slow moving vehicle on the back. Wish I could've got a photo of her . . .
