I got the day off today. There was an outing beginnin at around noon. There isn't much to mow anyway. The boss didn't call, so I guess I gotta get up and go to work and see what he is gonna have me do. We are startin at 6:30 AM now instead of 7 AM. Not as bad as when I worked at Redtail in Avon. We started at 6 AM most of the season. Toward the end of the season, I would go out with the mower and wait till it got light enough to see across the fairway I was supposed to mow. By that time it was close to 6:30. Have no idea why startin time wasn't moved to 6:30.

This is the greens mower that has been givin us trouble lately. A week or so ago, the boss told me to take it out and mow a couple greens to see if it was fixed. We have three of these mowers. They are very similar lookin. So I jump on it and go mow. The mower ran good. It just didn't cut worth a #%^**!!. After askin some questions, it seems that I grabbed the mower that is set to mow approaches & tees. Tees and appoaches are cut to 1/4," greens are cut to 1/8" and fairways are cut to 3/8." So I took the correct mower out and mowed with it. It ran and cut fine. Last Friday, I was usin it when it stopped dead while mowin the 14 green. Didn't even sputter, just stopped,. Acted like it wanted to start, but wouldn't. Called the shop and they brought out some fuel. The guy who brought the fuel said I had to buy donuts because I ran out of fuel. Not gettin any donuts from me. I filled the tank before I started. I didn't run out of fuel. Somethin is stopping the engine from gettin the fuel. Lynn, our legendary mechanic, looked into it Friday PM and thinks he may have found the problem . . . but then no one can get him to even guarantee his work the mower is started. So we will see.

I touched up the bicycle barn photo I shot in MI over the weekend. Don't think ya could see the bikes hangin on it very well on the previous blog.

Spotted this turtle near the end of the 15th fairway last week. He was a little one, maybe 6-8" across. Have no idea where he had been. There wasn't water of any kind behind him.

These daisies are tryin to bloom. I say tryin, because I don't think they will amount to much because it is so dry.

I see this pole almost everyday. Yes, there really is a pole in there. If ya look close ya can see a wire attached to it. I'm guessin it has been there a long time..

Even though I drive by this stump everytime I go to work, I never noticed it till last week. Somebody painted it green and white and put a couple solar lights on it. I don't know why either.

Then there was this SMART car. Those are the ones that give me the urge to tip them over whenever I see one. Looks like a 'ragtop' to me. Wonder how long it will be till someone devises a lift kit for one.
