The week before last, early morning stormed passed by. Only got about .20" of rain out of it. Hardly enough to stop mowin, but since there was some lightning, I came in till it stopped. What I believe to be a roll cloud formed and move almost directly south. Everything has to be just right for a roll cloud to form. It was movin southeast and never did pass over where I was. A roll cloud is formed by the downdraft of a decaying thunderstorm. The outflow from the dissipating storm spreads outward and lifts the warm and moist air still at the surface. It wasn't really connected to the higher clouds. One does not see roll clouds very often. The storm cell was definitely dissipating according to radar.
Below are some pics I shot while still mowin. They are pretty dark as they were taken around 6:30 AM.
While all this was goin on the sun was comin up in the east. It disappeared shortly after I shot this pic.
Yesterday mornin there was a very nice sunrise. My pics don't even come close to what it was in person.
