Goll's Woods

Photobucket

This morning I drove over to Goll's Woods. Goll's Woods is a growth of virgin timber and is an Ohio State Nature Preserve. There are some HUGE trees in there. I hiked the trails on the east side. It is generally much drier there. I spotted what I call the corkscrew tree. That is all I know about it.

I think one of the best times to hike there is May. That is when the spring flowers are at their peak. The place is loaded with with white Trilliums. I believe the Trillium is Ohio's official state wildflower.
