Sight Seeing Trip

Last fall I attempted to attend an auction in the NW part of the county. I got there shortly after 9:30 AM. I quickly realized that I had not paid close attention to the starting time. It started at 9 AM. Most auctions around here begin at 10 AM. There wasn't anything left that interested me. I guess I should have gone to one of the other auctions that day. Probably missed out on purchasing something that would have sold for thousands of dollars on eBay.

Since I was close, I decided to see if I could find the spot where Ohio, Michigan and Indiana come together. It wasn't an easy find. There is no road on the Ohio-Michigan line. There isn't a continuous road on the Ohio-Indiana line. Some sections of the roads that are there are paved and some are gravel. There were no commercial areas, tourist traps or crowds of people. In fact only one pick-up truck went by while I was there.

If this monument wasn't there it would have been very easy to drive by and not realize 'this is the place.'

This is the spot!! The is the pin that separates three states. The upper half of the photo is Indiana. The lower right quarter is Michigan. The lower left quarter is Ohio. Sends shivers down the spine doesn't it ? ? ? ?

This is the most northwest residence in Ohio. Don't know who lives there, no name on the mail box. I took the photo from Indiana. If you look close you can see the monument in Michigan beside the road. They even have a parking area for tourists, much like myself, to pull off the road out of traffic. I think it would be cool to be able to say that I lived in the most northwest house in Ohio.

If you ever find yourself in the area and are desperate to see some the sites, I highly recommend it. I don't think it has ever been very crowded.

Hint: If you go west into Indiana a few miles, there are several lakes with great fishing & boating, water parks, etc., including Pokagon State Park.
