Ramblin Again . . .

Some people thought I was nuts to move back to NW Ohio from the Lorain/Cleveland area. Thought I was moving to the middle of 'No Where.' Never thought it was that rural till one day this past week. I was going about my business of mowing a few fairways at the country club, when I spotted this on the adjacent horse farm property.

Yep, that's a teepee. A pretty big one. It appears every year about this time. Don't know why or what for. There are several Indian gatherings in the area at different times of the year. Haven't seen any Indians, yet, but maybe I'm more in the middle of 'no where' than I realize.

Ever notice how just one person can block everything . . . like an aisle in a grocery store -- with or without a grocery cart ??? Earlier today I watched a lady block everyone from using the beverage fountains at a fast food restaurant. Three or four people were waiting for her to fill her cup. No one, including myself, had any idea which way or what she was going to do.

Earlier this summmer, I was getting myself a Polar Pop at the local Circle K. They have 20 handles to choose from at their fountain. A grandpa was treating his grandchildren to a Polar Pop also. His grand daughter, who appeared to be 8 or 9, couldn't decide which flavor to get. She would start to reach for a handle, then change her mind. This went on for a short period of time. I said to her, "Too many to choose from, aren't there?" She looked at me and very emphatically nodded her head. Grandpa and myself got a pretty good chuckle out of the situation.

It has been a very wet October. The NWS says we are about 2-1/2" above average for the month. That was this AM. It is raining pretty good as I type this. The area is 6"+ above average for the year so far.

I've written previously about Bogie, the boss's border collie. Bogie has been around the golf course since he was a tiny pup. Everyone knows and likes him. Some of the women golfers carry dog biscuits in their golf bags. Bogie knows which one have the biscuits. When he sees them, he walks -- not runs -- out to where they are playing and sits down and very patiently waits for one.

Bogie is getting pretty old and is having a lot of arthritis problems in his hips. He doesn't get around very well any more. The boss doesn't bring him to the course very often. He needs help to get in and out of the truck. A couple months ago, I noticed Bogie sitting in the pick up near the end of the day. He was sitting in the back corner of the bed and the resident cat -- doesn't have a name -- was sitting on the bumper with Bogie. That was gonna make a great photo -- they are both black & white. By the time I was able to get my camera out of my pocket, the cat decided to move on. Took a couple shots of Bogie anyway.

Later, I was able to get a shot of the cat.
