I see where Sesame Street is 40 years old today. I'm a Howdy Doody guy. I sort of remember Romper Room & Captain Kangaroo getting started, but Howdy was my favorite. I think I would watch re-runs -- Flubadub, Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring . . . Maybe I ought to 'google' Howdy and see what I get.
Got a mailing from The Scooter Store the other day. Wonder what they know that I don't.
Heard this on the radio recently . . . A lady and her car collided with a deer. Mashed up the driver's side pretty good. After the proper reports, etc. were filed, she continued on her way. About a mile down the road, a deer ran into her car again . . . on the other side, of course. The way the deer were running around the course last week, I'm surprised that we didn't have any deer/mower or deer/golf cart collisions. Some of the guys said the had never seen it like that before.
Seems like every time I purchase something lately, it is from Wal Mart. . . even when I go somewhere else first. Getting tired of Wal Mart. Makes me think about going to the Meijer's store in Defiance just for the change.
Attempted to purchase a newspaper from a paper box last week. My quarters went right through it. Didn't get the paper, but I got my quarters back plus someone else's quarters. Why go to casinos to gamble????? When I was workin at the J, I used to tell people I had no reason to go to Vegas when I could play the slot machine (coffee machine) there. You never know what, if anything, it was going to give you for your money . . . and sometimes it kept the money. The repair guy told me once that is was so old that parts weren't available. He had to do a lot of improvising to keep it going.
Yesterday was a very pleasant, cloudy 60+ degree day. Got a lot of yard work done. I brought home a load of leaves from the golf course. The shredder I bought last summer works great . . . doesn't clog or anything! Worked so well & quickly that I called the boss and told him to dump another load of leaves by the shop and I would come get em. Not enough leaves on this street to even rake to the curb. We have a machine we pull with the tractor that pick leaves up into a big box. When it is full, dump them somewhere and burn them. Gonna be mulching some flower beds with leaves.
Today it is a sharp, cold damp 50 degree day. Makes me wonder where I could live that is more like yesterday in the winter. If the country club loses members this winter like last, I might get serious about looking for a warmer winter place to live. I see where the NWS says October was the 3rd coldest October on record -- Click Here to read report. I definitely agree. It was cold out there.
