Went to an auction today. It was at Dan Limber's auction barn in Ayersville OH. I spent $33.50 for 8 boxes of stuff. I sold one of the $2.00 boxes for $5.00 before I got it to the truck. Had no idea how well that stuff was gonna sell on eBay. Bought it to experiment with. But since I was able to more than double my money just by handing the lady the box and putting the money in my pocket, I figgered it was a decent deal. There is always a bit of wheelin & dealin after the auctioneer is done.
I explored a box that had a 1989 fall sports program for the local high school. I got a 'kick' out of the cheerleaders. They all had the BIG hair that was popular at that time. I wonder how they cheered and kept the hair all fluffed out. The ticket mgr of that time was also the baseball coach. I sort of knew in college. He played for BGSU and I had a few classes with him. He did very well while at AHS. . . winning a heck of a lot of BB games and a state championship.
On my way back home, I stopped at a Wendy's for a salad. I managed to get myself tangled up with another of those little blue haired ladies. She was leaving. I was getting up to leave with my tray. A little kid at another table started saying 'Bye' to her. The lady stopped dead in her tracks for the longest time to say 'bye' back. I was about 3/4 out of my chair trying to balance my tray and not fall backwards onto who knows what, where & who. Somehow, probably due to my superior athletic tendencies and conditioning . . . for an old guy, but not as near old as those little blue haired ladies who are always gettin in my way . . . I was able to once again avert disaster.
