Great Return On My Dollar . . .

A couple weeks ago I spent $7.00 for 6 boxes of stuff at an auction. I don't recall which box cost me $2.00. Most of the stuff got dropped off at one of the local thrift stores a few days later.

One of the boxes had this Corning Ware Blue Cornflower 6 cup carafe. They usually sell pretty good, especially the ones with a steel lid. This one wasn't the cleanest I ever had. . . the interior was lightly discolored and the bottom looks terrible, even though the bottom is smooth to the touch.

Coffee Pot

Started the auction at $5.00 and didn't think I would get much more than that. At the last minute there was a bidding frenzy. Took 9 bids for it to sell. Click HERE to see what I got for my buck.

This old 9 cup Drip 'O Lator coffee maker was in another box. People like those old aluminum coffee makers for some reason . . . and I like selling them to those people for obvious reasons. Upon closer inspection once I got home with it, I discovered the bottom of the bakelite handle was scorched pretty good. The dents were bigger than remembered too. Thought maybe I oughta just keep it around for the parts. Then I thought, 'what the heck, I'm gonna list it.' Started it out at $2.99. Figgered the photos were pretty 'damaging,' but ya gotta be honest about these things. At this posting, it has another day to go, but it has 5 bids already.

Photobucket

Click HERE to see how it is doing. Hint: MUCH, MUCH better than I thought it would. Still got a lot of stuff from that auction to list.
