A Lot Of Ramblin On About Nothing, But The Print Is Big & There Are Lots Of Pictures . . .

A Chilly One . . .
This dead battery was probably one of many in the area today. At 8:30 this AM, it was 4 degrees at my house and on the windy side.
The Defiance Crescent-News had a photo -- above the fold -- of a high school classmate from the mid-seventies. The article was about a guy who has played the guitar all his life. My friend, DJ, was in one of the bands he was in back then. DJ was wearing one of those '70's polyester shirts and had a very long mullet type hair style. I sent the photo to DJ and he confirmed it was him. No wonder he lives several states away from here. . . .
Glad January got here as quick as it did. I was getting tired of hearing about everyone's Top Ten list of whatever for 1009. It was getting bad. I think I dreamed about someone doing a Top Ten List of Top Ten Lists of 2009 . . . . but you know how it is when you try to remember your dreams . . .
Now the big thing seems to be what to call the 2000-09 decade. I can see where this is going to be a serious problem for the 'oldies' radio stations. I'm talkin the ones that play the best of the '60's, '70's, '80's, 90's & what . . . the aughts, maybe . . . or maybe the 0's . . . I can see where this is going to be a real problem for program directors and producers.
While I'm on the topic of music, I had a near, serious accident on one of the elliptical machines at the Y recently. I'm going along, mindin my own business, listening to the local FM oldies station, the one I listen to while I mow cause it is the only one I can get when they start playin one of the only 2 or 3 disco songs from the '70's that were ever worth playin. My brain automatically tells my feet to match the beat. It is a good runnin song. . . I used to run a lot. Weeelllllll, when you are on an elliptical machine, you just can't change your cadence in a split second. There is a lot of momentum to contend with. I was lucky I didn't blow out a knee, break a hip and go flyin off the machine taking a couple other people out too. I was able to get myself back under control without making too much of a fool of myself. Gotta remember that about those machines . . . no quick changes.
