Am I the only one who gets the urge to visit their local library when it is closed???? When it is open, I don't even think about it . . . but let it be closed . . .
Anyone get up early to partake in the Black Friday activites? I got up at my regular time . . .somewhere tween 8 & 9 AM. I did go to the closest Home Depot around 10:30 AM. I wasn't lookin to buy anything, I just needed to check out some flooring. It wasn't really crowded at all. They did have $300 off a washer & dryer set. Regular price was $550. If I needed a washer & dryer, I might have thought about getting up in the middle of the night to drive the 30 miles to Home Depot.
Didn't see any of those little blue-haired ladies with their big white cars in there. They love to get in my way and come up with other ways to irritate me. I doubt that many of them hang around those kinds of stores . . . I hope none of you hurt yourselves too much rushing to tell them about one of my 'hang out' spots . . .
Haven't been in any of those kinds of stores for a long time. I noticed that the battery operated drills are really small now with the same voltages as the physically large, older ones. That would cut down on the fatigue factor when shooting screws into drywall or metal studs all day. Ryobi had a display of cool battery-operated stuff . . . thermal imagers, laser levels. lights, even a heavy duty ipod that is supposed to survive rough use. All very reasonably priced. I think it was in Lowe's recently that I saw a really cool saw set up for cutting laminate flooring. It would be a great tool to have if ya put very much down for people. My problem is that I have absolutely no need for any of these newer tools.
My cousin said I could come over for T-Day if I brought my 'grape stuff.' My 'grape stuff' is a grape salad that is easy to make and is really good. I never bring anything home except for the empty dish. I've always wondered if I would get invitations if I didn't make the grape stuff. I'll hafta thank the person who gave me the recipe.
When I went to the local Walmart to get all the grape stuff, I saw a 'flock' of those little blue-haired ladies with their big grocery carts. They were around a person givin samples of something away. It was kinda funny . . . They and their carts were all tangled up. They couldn't get loose to set up any ambushes with me as the victim. I sort of silently, chuckled-smirked to myself with a straight face. That is something ya hafta practice a lot. A lot of things can go wrong when you don't stay in practice . . .
Can't believe how many cookie cutter set I'm sendin out of the country. I think the weak dollar has a lot to do with it. I can tell when the dollar loses ground. I have 5 packages ready to go out tomorrow. Three of them are international. I have another order goin to Australia. I'm waitin to see if the lady wants another set to go with the one she has already paid for. My set of 6 old fashioned Christmas ornament cutters are very popular this year. I haven't checked but I may be on my 4th dozen this yr. The link to my eBay page is on the blog if ya want to look at 'em.
I'm really 'itchin' to go to Holmes County and visit Ohio's Amish Country. I pulled up directions with Mapquest.com. a couple days ago. It is 200 miles from here and a 3-1/2 hr. drive one way . . . Not the cozy hour and a half drive from where I used to live. Indiana Amish areas arent near as neat as Holmes County.
