Sure has been difficult to figger out which day it is lately. Saturday seemed like it should be a Sunday, Sunday seemed like it should have been a Monday. Not sure about today yet . . .
Jeezz . . . Christmas is barely over and they are pushin New Year's Eve already . . . They ought to make New Year's Eve an official holiday. Seems like it is treated like one

Christmas is over, so after a few days of Christmas clearance sales, we probably won't hear much about it till around Labor Day . . . Have to admit that I listed my Christmas Cookie cutters earlier this year . . . around Labor Day. First time I ever listed them that early. They started movin out right away.
Took a hike through Goll's Woods one day last week. This snowman was standing guard over the parking lot. It was a lot bigger than it looks in the photo . . . over 6 ft. tall.
I was leavin Lester's Diner the other day when this guy at the counter turns around and says 'Hi, It's been a while, hasn't it.' Had to agree because I have no idea who it was. The guy he was with I see quite often at the local Y. The only thing I can come up with is that he is a member at the country club where I mowed grass. Hate it when someone recognizes me and I don't recognize them.
Gotta quit watchin the 'Cool Tools' show on cable. I see those tools and wish I had a reason to buy them and use them. Probably ought to stay away from the tool section in the big box stores too. They have some neat new tools, but I don't have any reason to buy any of them either.
With everything Google is tryin to do and all the apps they have come up with, I'm wonderin if Google is the new Microsoft . . . Just don't hear anything about what Microsoft is doin . . . Maybe it is the advertising . . .
I was perusin Poor Will's Almanac recently and came upon a couple of Lunar Lore tidbits pertainin to this week . . . the most interesting was 'Most fruitcake is expected to disappear before dawn this week, due to moon-induced hunger.' Yes, I did type it word for word, letter for letter. I have never heard of this moon-induced hunger before . . . and what it does to fruitcake . . . Not sure if this is something against fruitcakes or what. I wonder if 'moon-induced hunger' is something to be feared or dreaded . . . or both. Gonna definitely keep up with Poor Will's Almanack to what else the moon is up to . . .
One of my grandmothers always made fruitcakes and I liked fruitcake. Many, many years ago I attempted to make a fruitcake. I remember that the ingredients cost me a small, make that medium fortune. There must be a trick to bakin them. I recall usin the toothpick trick to see if it was done and bakin it way longer than I was supposed to. I never did get it bake clear through, pretty doughy toward the middle. That's when I realized that makin fruitcakes was best left to grandmothers.
