Got up early today and went to the fairgrounds to the annual New Year's Day auction. It had a lot of nice stuff . . . antiques . . . Recognized a few dealers, so I didn't hang around . . . Don't get many bargains when there are that many dealers in attendance.
On the way out I noticed this pig. First time I've noticed it. Yes, the tail is a piece of ribar. Don't think a carved tail would have lasted long enough for the carver to put his chainsaw away. There are other carvings at the fairgrounds, but I didn't take time to shoot them, Maybe next time I am there. There is another auction there later this month.
I didn't feel like goin back home right away, so I decided to drive up to Hillsdale MI. They have an outdoor auction almost every Saturday AM. Been a couple years since I've been there. Wasn't much there either. I ought to check it out during warm weather and see what kind of stuff they have. It is a consignment auction. You bring stuff to be auctioned off. Buyers pay for it on the spot. There is a really 'seedy' flea market under the grandstands each Saturday also. I do not recommend it.
Absolutely no one has asked me about New Year's resolutions . . . In order to save you the embarrassment of askin, I'm gonna tell you. I'm thinkin I shouldn't be makin any resolutions this year or in the future. As a retired Sr. Citizen (most fast food restaurants automatically give me the sr. discount, still workin on Wendy's), I feel that changes to me lifestyle could be harmful to my health, well being and what is left of my mental acuity. Tough to improve on perfection anyway . . . So I figger that makin them would be wastin even more time than it took to type this explanation. I'm not even gonna suggest any for you . . .
