Cat 'Roid Rage' ????

Patches dec 2011

This is my cat, Patches.  She is an 18 yr old calico.  Blends in very well on this quilt.  More than once I "haven't seen here" there.  We usually get along well.  In the beginnin we had to make some agreements . . . Like I get priority on usin the bed at night and she gets priority on usin the bed during the day . . .  Stuff like that.

About six weeks ago the vet put her on a steriod to help her gain weight.  It is difficult for older cats to gain weight by themselves.  Two weeks into taking the steriod, she had gained 3 ounces and was up to 7 lbs., 12 oz.

A few mornings ago she was making a bigger fuss than usual about me gettin up to get her somethin to eat.  Don't need an alarm clock to wake me at the crack of dawn . . . Anyway, I sort of snarled at her and she snarled right back at me.  That was a shocker.  She doesn't usually do that.  Then there was the recent afternoon that I came into the bedroom and looked at her layin on the bed.  She opened her eyes and glared back at me then got up and came to the edge of the bed and let me have it !!!  Not sure what she was tellin me exactly, but I think it was along the lines of 'what you lookin at, get out of here, so I can get some rest,  gettin you up to feed me wears me out.'

What I saw this mornin after gettin out of bed to get breakfast has me wonderin if I should be gettin worried.

This is her scratchin post.  It belongs about 3 feet from where I found it . . .  against the wall and setting upright.  It isn't real light . . . She has knocked over before, but never moved it 3 feet or so across the room.  A claw snag . . . or another roid rage ????  Patches has an appt. with the vet to be weighed, etc.  I just might ask about cats havin 'roid rage.'
