Earworms: Can They Be Killed???

Earworms are as disgustin as they sound.  An earworm is a song going around in your head that you can't get rid of.  We've all had them at one time or another.  I get them around Christmas.  Some mornings I wake up with a Christmas song rattlin around in my head.  I don't go out of my way to listen to Christmas music just because of my propensity toward earworms.  Did some internet research today, and apparently there is no sure fire cure.  In extreme cases they have been know to last several years.  If my earworms have not mutated, they will pretty much be gone next Monday . . . Happens every year . . .

Read an article today about recycled Christmas wrapping.  It said Americans generate an extra million tons of garbage a week during the holidays.  Most of the  waste is wrapping paper and bags.  The stat that caught my eye was ribbon.  It said the amount of ribbon that is thrown away each year is enough to tie a bow around the earth.  That is a serious amount of ribbon.

In addition to the antler pen, I made these two pens over the weekend.  They are Christmas presents also. The wood I used was from someone's walnut tree.  Definitely a sentimental Christmas gift.  The second photo is slightly out of focus and the grain pattern is blurred.  Anyway, all three pens have been delivered to Santa and the rest is up to him.
