I was out and about mid-mornin and I found myself behind this truck. It was takin a load of 6 tires from the Titan Tire Co. somewhere. The Bryan factory makes off road construction/mining equipment tires. I think these are the biggest they make here. Somewhere around a 60 inch radius. Probably for one of those huge mining dump trucks I see on the History Channel programs.
Yesterday, I went to the Defiance Library. Been tryin to get a couple books from there. But they don't do inter-library loans or even let ya check em out cause they are reference books. One was on Defiance County ghost towns and the other on the Auglaize River Hydroelectric plant. I really wanted to bring em home and read them cover to cover, but what ya gonna do. The hydroelectric plant book was more like a notebook. The author spent a lot of time goin through old newspapers and copyin articles. A couple of the articles were about the housing that was built near the dam for the workers. It seems that they had to build a couple bars for the Italians cause they weren't gonna work if they couldn't have their beer. That was the way it was written . . . The Italians had to have their beer!!
Comin out of the Y earlier this PM, I noticed that the tarp had been removed from the chimney. I guess Santa is welcome to stop at the house. I wonder what the kids had to agree to in order to get the tarp removed . . .
I was readin an article earlier this week about flinging fruitcakes. This is something new to me. I know that people to build catapults to fling pumpkins around Halloween time. Anyway, it seems that people build pneumatic cannons, take them to Manitou Springs CO for a fruitcake flingin competition. Maybe I'm crazy, but I like to eat a bit of fruitcake every now and then. One of my grandmothers made fruitcakes around Christmas.
Did you see the article about where White Castle is considering selling beer along with their sliders?? I like a few sliders now and then. They are so bad that they taste good. Havin a beer with them just doesn't sound good to me. I don't think I'll be lookin for a beer servin White Castle anytime soon.
