After livin with a cat for nearly 18 years, ya begin to understand each other. My cat, Patches T. Cat, used mostly body language to communicate till about 3 years ago. Then she got real vocal and loud at times. Maybe she came across a Rosetta Stone book on cat or maybe found one of those Dummies books . . . Cat Language For Dummies maybe.
Early this afternoon I spotted her doin some body language. She is wantin a brushin. She is usin her brush for a pillow. She insists on a brushin nearly every day. If the body language doesn't get through to me, she starts yowlin till I get it. If I'm in another room she comes in and starts yowlin. She hasn't figgered out how to bring her brush to me yet.
She is usually a polite, appreciative cat. This is her way of sayin 'Thank You.' Before she started losin her hearin, she understood quite a few words. I'm not sure how much she can hear, but it isn't anything like it used to be.
