Browser Troubles

For the past couple months or so, I have been having browser problems. I have been using Firefox since last fall. For the last 6-8 weeks it has been "hanging." Hanging means that it quits responding. The only way to get it going again was to re-boot the computer. Re-booting can be very aggravating. I googled the problem and looked at forums for the solution. I used restore points, removed periphals & deleted and re-loaded software. I was getting no where. I began to notice that when I went from website to website many times during a session, Firefox would hang. It was like Firefox was good for X number of visits per session. The number seemed to vary, so I wasn't positive that was the problem. I finally found paragraph that said Firefox and the Zone Alarm firewall do not like each other. So I deleted Zone Alarm and downloaded the PC Tools firewall. It has been about a week since I made this change and Firefox has not hung. I think maybe I found the solution to my problem. The real test is putting this on the blog for everyone to see. By bragging about my fix, I figger that if Firefox is going to start hanging, it definitely will. If it doesn't, I really have found the solution.
