Back To The Office !
Yesterday was my first day back at the golf course. Got today off cause it has been raining all morning. It was a 'great' day to start back -- windy, temperature probably never reached 45 and it started raining around 1 PM. I took the rough mower (my office) out searching for green patches of grass needing to be mowed. The course wasn't as wet as I thought it would be. I didn't get as cold as I thought I would. I think I have been colder.
The boss told me that we had to get along with a couple less workers this year due to losing members. That didn't surprise me. He didn't bring back the guy that mows fairways and probably one other high school kid. It probably means I'm gonna be mowing other areas on a regular basis. At one time or another I've mowed everything. Ok with me, if they can use me, fine, if they can't that is ok too.
Last week I was watching that 'World's Worst Drivers' program on tv. The had a clip of a guy in India riding a motorcycle on a multi lane highway texting on his phone. A day or so later, I read about a geek connecting his cat door to Twitter. When the cat goes outside, people receive a tweet saying 'the cat went outside.' When the cat returns, a tweet is sent. A friend told me that someone has rigged up a couple moister meters in their plants to send a tweet when they need water.
This got me thinking. Maybe I can learn to text while I mow. I could send tweets so everyone can keep up to date with what is going on while I'm at the office. I hear the President does it, why not me? Yesterday I could have tweeted that 'They trimmed the brush back along #14-no more branches snapping back into my face' 'Some of the swallows are back, they aren't bothering me - they are flying circles over the pond by the 11 green' 'Course isn't as wet as I thought it would be' 'Lunch time -- can't wait to eat my pbj sandwiches' 'It's start to spit, is this the steady rain they were talking about?'
I'll let you decide. Would you rather hear about me 'greasing my mower' via tweets or hear about it here, in my blog?
