It was one of those weeks. Every day except Friday seemed like a Friday. I don't know either.
Grass is growing faster than we can mow it. During my annual physical, my doctor asked me if we were mowing less. He golfs there on Thursday afternoons. I have been mowing the rough every day (sometimes on Sat & Sun mornings) and if it has been mowed during the last 2 hrs., it needs mowed again. Some days we use the 5' Toro and the old rough mower which is down to one 6' deck. It used to have 3 working decks.
For the heck of it, I added up the rain fall totals. Had another 1.2" this past week. That makes 2.43" for May. Today is only May 17. We had 4.29" during April and 4.5" for March. It has been a wet spring, but at least it is warmer than last year. Last year, I wore "full Carharts" till a couple days before Memorial Day. Been very windy this spring. I'm not a fan of wind when I have to sit in it all day on a mower. But the wind has been drying up the ground enough for the farmers to get into the fields.
Below are some photos of what I have to look at all day.
I call these three pines, "The 3 Amigos." I think a stormy sky and a bit different angle would make a great photo.
Looking west from the 15th tee toward the 14th fairway.
Now I gotta go mow my yard.
