Another Close Call !!!!
Professional mower drivin isn't always the "cake" job that it appears (yes it is, but don't tell anyone else). I gotta mow in the heat, the wind and the cold. I kind of like drivin in the rain -- till it comes down really hard or the wind is blowin it in my face. This morning it was downright cold--eye watering cold. My eyes were watering till around 9 AM. Anyway, I was mowin tween the tees and fairway on 17. I was making my first pass on the right side against some guy's yard. I noticed the sprinkler just ahead of me come on. I instantly put my excellent split-second, decision-making ability to work. First thought was "I'm gonna hafta drive through this guy's yard." which I really don't like to do. My next thought of getting drenched with cold water on a cold morning wasn't appealing, so I looked behind me and saw that sprinkler head coming on also. As they were coming to "full force," I quickly realized that both were aimed perpendicular to my line of travel. I automatically realized I had a reasonable amount of time to escape another cold shower by escaping tween the sprinklers before they rotated to my location. My excellent split-second, decision-making ability and actually remembering and using basic geometry saved me again, but I have to admit it was on the close side.
