I survived the blizzard like I figgered I would in spite of those radio and tv guys goin bonkers tellin everybody what to do and what not to do. I stayed inside at home the whole time . . .
For those of you who are wonderin what makes a blizzard a blizzard . . . Takes winds in excess of 35 mph with enough blowin or driftin snow to reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less for at least 3 hrs. A ground blizzard does this without fallin snow. It blows the snow around that is already on the ground. Now you know . . .
Haven't heard any snowfall totals yet, but there is a lot of snow out there . . . and it is still blowin around pretty good. Wind has been in the teens most of the day with gusts well into the 20's. Now its gonna get cold for a few days . . . tonight's low is expected to be in the single digits.
Got my drive dug with my snow blower. On the last pass on my sidewalk the paddles quit turnin. Probably a belt problem of some sort. I haven't taken it apart yet.
He is a few pics of what the storm did to my backyard . . .
This was taken Monday when they started talkin up the storm.
The storm came in two phases. Tuesday night brought about 3" without any wind.
This is my backyard now. Still more white than anything else, only a lot deeper. Probably gonna be a while till I see much of anything other than white back there, even though the ground hogs say spring is just around the corner.
