It's here !! The storm of the decade and maybe the century!! Keep in mind that we are only 10 or 11 years into the 21st century, depending on how you keep count.
A storm warning for this area went out Sunday. It started Monday and was to end Wednesday. Early this morning the NWS put out a blizzard warning from 1 PM today to 7 PM tomorrow evening. Can't recall bein in a blizzard warning since the '70's.
Everyone was in the grocery stores yesterday. Seemed like there was a lot more traffic in Bryan than usual. Probably people comin in from the rural areas. Today there weren't many people in the stores at all. Started snowin around 3:15 this PM. Been comin down pretty heavy since. The first round of snow left about 3" last night. All the schools were closed today. The radio guy announced the closings by saying every school in such and such county was closed. Never heard it done that way before. As luck would have it, nothing happened weatherwise till around dismissal time. They'll probably have the next 2 days off because of drifting. I expect the county to be pretty well shut down tomorrow. If ya listen to Fort Wayne's WOWO, they are makin ya think the end of life as we know it ending. I went ahead and listed a couple auctions ending next Tues. anyway.
