Today was my first garage sale of the season. It was a nice day for it. It was relatively warm this AM.
It was a couple miles east of town. When I saw the house, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to see any stuff I would be interested in. I was right. I'm gettin pretty good at that sort of thing, but ya hafta check anyway, you never know . . . Like that $6 dollar set of mixing bowls I sold for $44.00 this month and almost didn't stop at the thrift store . . . Wasn't a little blue-haired lady anywhere . . . Come to think of it I haven't had any get in my way in the thrift stores lately . . . Probably gonna attack when they think my guard is down . . .
On the way out the door this AM, I saw this scene a couple houses down the street . . .
I think it was a water leak. Ever since last summer there has been continuous water comin from that direction in the storm sewer catch basin. I thought about callin about it, but I never did. Around 1PM I saw the local directional boring company go down the street. The city had been trying to thread some water line under the street, but were apparently unsuccessful.
I wonder if they put plywood down before setting up the boring machine. The lady who lives there is pretty particular about her yard. I haven't walked past the place to see if there is any damage. I'm really not the nosey type. I notice stuff, but I don't go lookin for stuff. Anyway there is no runnin water in the catch basin.
Decided to take a stroll through Goll's Woods to see if anything was bloomin yet. There were a few green sprouts pokin through if ya look close, so I didn't have flowers to photograph. Met up with an older gentleman with a camera and binoculars. Got to talkin with him. He is a retired biology tchr. and belongs to a group who gives guided walks there. He started tellin me about the trees and flowers in the woods and where the better places are to see birds. Says he and his wife put a lot of miles on the car looking for stuff to photograph. Wish there was a photography club somewhere close, I'd probably join up in a minute or two.
This barn is on the way I took to Goll Woods. It seems out of place. There are no other buildings around it, just flat fields.
