Went to my first outdoor auction of the season last Saturday. Lots of sunshine, but it was still pretty chilly and I got cold and didn't check another auction I was considering. This was probably the smallest auction I've been too . . . ever. Took about an hour and a half. There were a couple bowl sets that I was interested in but they went way over what I was willin to pay. I bought a pair of decent binoculars more for myself than resale. Now I can quit wishin I had a pair and start wishin I had them with me when I see something I want to see up close . . .Three old telephones, 2 bathroom scales, a hair dryer and a basket came with them. Dropped the extra stuff off at the thrift store on the way home. There were several of those little blue-haired ladies in attendance. They were bidding against each other for the bowls. One stood off to the side and sort of glared at me. I sort of sneered at her when she wasn't lookin my way . . . I'm no fool . . .
It was time for my annual eye exam, so I called late Monday AM. They had a 1 PM opening and I took it. There was a young lady, in her 20's ahead of me. Would you believe that she took a good 45 minutes to pick out frames and still couldn't decide. She tried on probably a third of the frames on display. Narrowed it down to 2 or 3 . . . kept trying them on . . . I bet if ya look close, those frames are starting to show some wear. She started asking people in the waiting area what they thought. When she asked me, I told her I like the pair she had on. She was about 20 ft. from where I was sitting with my dilated eyeballs . . . I could see her fine, but detail was definitely lacking . . . I mean, what would you say if you were me???? She finally decided to come back later with some friends to help her choose.
All my baseball gloves are sold and I only have 4 bats left. That didn't take long. I started listing them around the first of March. I'll be looking for more at the garage sales this summer.
